In August 2025, Ms. NP (26 years old, Hanoi ), an employee of a technology company, lost 85 million VND in just 15 minutes when she believed in a job offer with double the salary from a person impersonating a recruiter. After downloading the application and providing the OTP code as instructed, her phone was completely taken over and her account "evaporated" 85 million VND. Despite her knowledge of technology, Ms. P. was cautious when checking the APK file but still could not detect the sophisticated malware embedded in the fake application.

Ms. NP's case is no exception. In the first 8 months of 2025, the country recorded more than 1,500 online fraud cases (up 65% compared to the same period in 2024), causing an estimated loss of more than 1,660 billion VND.

Faced with this situation, the representative of MB - the leading bank in digital transformation and digital financial security, Mr. Vu Thanh Trung, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, participated in sharing at the Talkshow "Building the Country - Proud of Vietnam", broadcast on the Government Information Portal, HTV 9 and MB's official channels.

To stay ahead of cybercriminals, MB applies "reverse thinking": building an internal hacker team to attack the bank's own system to detect security holes before criminals exploit them. This approach helps MB "know yourself and your enemy, win every battle", continuously improve the system and always stay one step ahead of cybercriminals.

Technology and action go hand in hand - protecting before risks even form

Serving 33.9 million customers with 40% of revenue coming from digital channels, MB deploys a multi-layered defense system that is continuously updated and improved, protecting customers at every transaction touchpoint from online to offline, from the login stage to completing payment.

Layer 1 - Automatic malware scanning: The App Protection solution automatically scans the device when opening the application, detects up to 99% of spyware and immediately disconnects the service if it detects that the device has been compromised. In just 2 weeks of launching, the system has protected more than 970 customers with total assets of more than 20 billion VND.

Layer 2 - Fraudulent account warning: Directly connected to the SIMO system and the Ministry of Public Security database, MB automatically compares the receiving account and warns or stops the transaction when detecting suspicion.

Layer 3 - AI Behavior Analysis: The AI ​​system learns personalized transaction behavior, analyzes time, operation speed, receiving account and geographic location to immediately block unusual transactions. This technology protects customers even when they are not aware of the risk of fraud.
