"Underground Tunnels: The Sun in the Darkness," directed by Bui Thac Chuyen, is the only Vietnamese film to have three screenings at the 38th Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF 2025) on October 29th, October 31st, and November 5th.

Director Bui Thac Chuyen made a comeback to the TIFF 2025 red carpet three years after his film "Brilliant Ashes" was selected for the main competition at TIFF 2022. This time, Bui Thac Chuyen, along with two actresses from the film "Tunnels: Sun in the Dark," Ho Thu Anh and Diem Hang Lamoon, interacted with the Tokyo audience.
