Organize a fundraising event to support Hue residents affected by floods within the framework of the Golf Course Owners Conference - Developing Vietnam Golf Tourism

Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ho An Phong signed Official Dispatch No. 5758/BVHTTDL-DLQGVN to the People's Committee of Hue City on organizing donations to support people of Hue City affected by floods within the framework of the Conference of Golf Course Owners - Developing Vietnam Golf Tourism.

The document stated that in recent days, Hue city has been experiencing prolonged heavy rains causing flooding, seriously affecting people's lives. In this situation, in order to promote the spirit of solidarity, mutual love and spread the humanistic values ​​of the community, support local people to soon stabilize their lives and overcome the consequences of natural disasters, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism respectfully requests the People's Committee of Hue city to coordinate in organizing and implementing fundraising activities to support people affected by floods at the Conference of Golf Course Owners - Developing Vietnam Golf Tourism .

In particular, the Conference Organizing Committee informed the delegates, especially the corporations, general companies, businesses investing and managing golf courses, to proactively participate in contributing and supporting the local people; at the same time, prepare symbolic boards showing the amount of support to give to the Hue City Leaders right at the Conference.

Adjust and supplement the Conference Program to incorporate this meaningful human content, demonstrating the spirit of mutual love and support, accompanying localities to overcome difficulties and overcome the consequences of natural disasters.

According to initial statistics from the Hue City Civil Defense Command, the recent flood caused 32/40 wards and communes in Hue to be deeply inundated; more than 44,507 houses were flooded 0.5-2 meters, and more than 201,100 households lost power.

Many relics in Hue were flooded deeply, such as the courtyard of Minh Mang tomb was flooded 1.4 meters, Thieu Tri tomb was flooded 1.5 meters, and An Dinh Palace courtyard was flooded 2 meters.

The floods also caused landslides at 38 points, blocking the La Son - Tuy Loan highway, Ho Chi Minh road, and National Highway 49A. The coast of Thuan An ward was severely eroded, stretching 1 km, 50-70 m deep into the mainland.
