For the XGS-PON Wi-Fi7 team, participating, being in the Final Round and finally being honored at the Award Ceremony of the Vietnam Talent Awards 2025 is an extremely proud and emotional thing. It is the result of many months of effort to perfect the product, testing and editing every small detail. When presented to the Jury, having the opportunity to look back on the entire creative journey, they clearly feel the practical value that the product brings.

According to Mr. Hoang Quoc Huy, the whole group believes in the unique value, breakthrough ideas, high applicability and "Make in Vietnam" spirit that the product brings. Regardless of the final result, for the whole group, being on the award ceremony stage is already a victory, because it is not only a reward for the whole group, but also an encouragement for the entire Vietnamese technology engineering community to dare to dream, dare to master core technologies.
Based on the fact that the current network infrastructure is gradually overloaded with high bandwidth demands, especially with 4K, IoT or cloud computing services and ensuring network security, the group realized the need for a new generation Internet access solution to personalize the secure Internet access experience for end users and optimize the network operation experience for network service providers.
That reality motivated the whole team to focus on developing the XGS-PON WiFi 7 Terminal Ecosystem - a new generation solution, capable of providing speeds up to 10 Gbps, supporting WiFi 7 standard to maximize optical transmission capacity while supporting smart network features on both devices and centralized management systems.
This is considered the right direction because it touches the foundation of digital transformation: a fast, strong, smart and secure Internet connection. Pursuing a product, not only solves a technical problem, but is also contributing to building an "information highway" for the digital future of the Vietnamese people, owned by the Vietnamese people.
It can be said that in order to build a product ecosystem that serves the increasing needs of both end users and network service providers, the team had to solve many complex technical problems. But the most difficult thing is still creating a "healthy body" - high-performance hardware and a "smart brain" - software and self-adaptive management system - for the product.
The first challenge the team faced was mastering the core technology of the XGS-PON and WiFi 7 standards - very complex international standards that require high precision and compatibility with many different devices. In the early stages, the team encountered many difficulties in designing high-speed hardware, processing optical signals and optimizing firmware to achieve stable 10 Gbps performance. In addition, integrating WiFi 7 - a new standard - also posed a series of problems regarding compatibility, power consumption and interference control.
To overcome this, the team divided the problem into smaller parts, closely coordinated between the hardware - software - testing groups, and utilized domestic research resources combined with learning from international standards. As a result, the product not only operated stably but also achieved a level of technical perfection equivalent to international products, proving the ability of the Vietnamese engineering team to master new generation telecommunications technology.
Right after completing the hardware product, optimizing performance, stability and compatibility across multiple network environments, the second important item that the team pays special attention to is integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into both the device and the centralized Cloud management system, to improve user experience - from automatically optimizing WiFi signal quality, analyzing network usage behavior, to proactively predicting and handling incidents.
This is a new field that has never been seen before in other products, so the team had to deploy many parallel workflows from analyzing data from millions of existing devices on the network, coordinating with chipset partners to optimize software processing, testing and refining training models... to ensure development is on the right track.
Once the foundations are established, the hybrid AI model on both devices and management systems (AI on Edge & Cloud) can adapt and evolve to provide an intelligent network management platform that helps network operators monitor, configure and optimize remote device operations flexibly and securely.
Unlike current commercial XGS-PON WiFi 7 products which are mainly developed by foreign companies, the products of the group from VNPT Technology are designed and optimized entirely domestically, aiming at the operating conditions of Vietnam's telecommunications network.
The biggest difference is not just whether the product has Wi-Fi 7 or 10 Gbps speed, but lies in the "smart brain" trained to understand Vietnamese people. While foreign products are powerful "tools", the group's product is an "assistant" that automatically prioritizes users' video calls, warns of cyber threats that are suitable for Vietnamese usage habits, and can be personalized to the maximum extent.
The “key” factor that determines the project’s success is the combination of mastering core technology and understanding the real needs of Vietnamese users, creating a solution that is both advanced and practical.
It is known that in the coming time, the group will focus on implementing 3 main contents. The first is to complete new product versions for different customer segments and markets such as the wireless network security segment for agencies, ministries; mid-range segment for small businesses and business households...
Further, the group aims to export Make in Vietnam products to the international market. This device has been launched in collaboration with Qualcomm at major technology forums around the world such as Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 in Barcelona and Network X 2025 in Paris, marking an important step forward for Vietnamese technology on the world telecommunications map. The Wifi 7 intrusion prevention system in the product ecosystem has also been well received in the Korean market. These initial successes have contributed to affirming Vietnam's technological innovation capacity in the field of new generation telecommunications in the international arena and the group will continue to promote this international trade activity.
Finally, the team members are also preparing the necessary steps to join hands with chipset partners to research and develop next-generation network access devices supporting 25G PON and Wifi 8 technology, continuing to improve AI models to have more useful product versions for users, contributing to the development of the technology industry and the country.
Being honored at the Vietnam Talent Awards 2025 is a great recognition for the efforts of the Vietnamese engineering team to master core technology in the telecommunications field. The award not only brings pride, but also serves as an important launching pad to help the XGS-PON WiFi 7 product spread widely, creating trust for partners, businesses and network operators in using "Make in Vietnam" devices. With this title, the team has more motivation and prestige to expand the ecosystem, continue researching the next generation, contributing to affirming Vietnam's position on the regional telecommunications technology map.
