Episode 158 of the program Vietnamese Family Home hosted by MC Duong Hong Phuc has just aired, bringing many lingering emotions. Two special guests - singer Quach Tuan Du and singer Phuong Trinh Jolie could not hide their emotions when witnessing the difficult situation of the orphans. Both sent sincere words of encouragement, and at the same time made efforts to complete the challenges to bring home valuable rewards from Hoa Sen Group , contributing to giving more strength to the characters in the program.

Pham Diem Quynh (born in 2011) is currently a 9th grade student at Quang Trung Secondary School, Hung My Commune, Ca Mau Province. Her father passed away from colon cancer more than 10 years ago. Currently, Diem Quynh lives with her mother - Nguyen Mong Thuy (born in 1983) and younger brother Nguyen Thien An (born in 2019), who is in 1st grade.
After her husband passed away, Thuy remarried and gave birth to Thien An, but the marriage quickly fell apart. When she became pregnant, her husband abandoned her, and she has since raised two children alone.
Every day, Ms. Thuy makes orange cakes, sticky rice cakes, and quai vac cakes to sell at the school gate and at the morning market. To increase her income, she also sells banh it and banh tet. On average, she earns about 100,000 - 200,000 VND per day, but her income is unstable; on rainy days, the three of them have to eat cakes instead of rice. Despite her illness, Ms. Thuy still tries to work. She has a goiter and gout and has to take medicine regularly, each visit costs nearly 500,000 VND. She also has a large birthmark on her face but has not been able to treat it.

Diem Quynh’s grandparents live nearby, often help, look after their grandchildren and support her with some money for school. Diem Quynh is a good student, having won the title of Excellent Student in Civic Education . She dreams of becoming a police officer so she can take care of her mother and protect people. Every time she sees her mother sick, she just hopes that she will be healthy so that she can wait until she grows up and can repay her parents.
The family's meals are usually very simple, with meat and fish being the main meals on good days, and boiled vegetables with salt or rice with cold water on bad days. Every morning, Diem Quynh wakes up early to help her mother make cakes before going to school. Although her father passed away when she was young, in her memory, he is always a calm and affectionate man. To this day, Diem Quynh still keeps the shirt her father gave her - a keepsake from her childhood.
MC Duong Hong Phuc was speechless when he heard Diem Quynh talk about the meal with cold water due to poverty. The male MC bowed his head to express his admiration for Ms. Nguyen Mong Thuy, a mother with many illnesses but still working hard to earn a living to raise two young children.
Singer Phuong Trinh Jolie could not hide her emotions before the sacred motherly love, expressing her gratitude for the silent sacrifices of a mother for her child. She sent words of encouragement to Diem Quynh, encouraging her to study hard to show her gratitude to her mother.

For singer Quach Tuan Du, each time he participates in Vietnamese Family Home is like reliving his childhood of hardship, difficulty but full of determination. He recounts the time he used to sell cakes on the street to help his mother, before becoming a beloved singer.
“My father passed away when I was 10 years old, I lived with my mother and aunt. At the age of 35, my mother decided not to remarry to raise 5 children. I saw that my mother was having a hard time, so I found a way to earn money to help her, taught myself how to make banh quai vac and then went to sell it on the street. Until now, no matter how much or how little I make, I always turn to my mother first ,” the male singer shared.

Not feeling self-conscious or inferior about his fate, Quach Tuan Du considers his difficult childhood as a valuable lesson that helps him to constantly strive. Facing Diem Quynh's dream of becoming a police officer, he continuously sends words of encouragement, adding confidence and motivation for her to firmly step on the journey ahead.
At the end of the competition, Truong Thi Tuyet Mai's family came in third place, receiving a prize of 17 million VND. Pham Le Man Thi came in second place, receiving 22 million VND. Pham Diem Quynh's family won first place, overcoming a special challenge and bringing home a total prize of 55 million VND.
