Disseminate Petrovietnam's Science, Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation Strategy to 2030, with a vision to 2050, and promote the implementation of key tasks at BSR

That is the direction of comrade Bui Ngoc Duong - Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Vietnam National Industry and Energy Group (Petrovietnam), Party Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Joint Stock Company (BSR), Head of the Steering Committee for Science and Technology Development (KHCN), Innovation (ĐMST) and Digital Transformation (CĐS) of BSR at the meeting of the Steering Committee on the morning of October 30, 2025.

At the meeting, the Steering Committee listened to reports and discussed: Implementation status of Conclusion No. 08-KL/BCĐ-ĐMST dated August 26, 2025 of the Head of the Steering Committee; Science and Technology Strategy, Innovation and Digital Transformation of Petrovietnam to 2030, with a vision to 2050; List of strategic technologies and strategic products of Petrovietnam; Implementation status of key tasks of BSR in 2025.

Steering Committee for Science and Technology Development, Innovation and Digital Transformation of BSR Company met to deploy many key tasks

In his speech, Mr. Bui Ngoc Duong emphasized: “Developing science and technology, innovation and digital transformation are key tasks and play a key role in the development strategy of Petrovietnam and BSR. This is the decisive factor to improve productivity, efficiency, competitiveness and sustainable development of enterprises in the new period”.

For effective implementation, the Steering Committee unanimously assigned the General Director - Deputy Head of the Steering Committee to directly direct, urge and organize the synchronous implementation of key work contents. In particular, focusing on thoroughly disseminating and popularizing Petrovietnam's Science and Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation Strategy to 2030, with a vision to 2050 to all BSR cadres, party members and employees; at the same time, disseminating the Strategy's content at the meetings of the Party Executive Committee of the Company and its affiliated branches and party committees; and propagating on the Company's internal communication system.

The Head of the Steering Committee requested to improve the organizational structure of the Steering Committee and the Implementation Team for Science and Technology Development, Innovation and Digital Transformation of BSR in line with the new goals, including integrating the ESG Team to ensure consistency and avoid overlapping tasks. At the same time, rename the Information Technology Board to the Information Technology & Digital Transformation Board to promote the role of digital governance and innovation in production and business activities; complete regulations related to Science and Technology and Innovation activities.

Regarding the 2025 science and technology tasks, the Steering Committee requires focal units to urge the implementation progress, report monthly and promptly propose solutions to obstacles. At the same time, the 2026 Science and Technology and Innovation Plan needs to be built closely following the Petrovietnam Strategy, prioritizing key areas such as optimizing plant operations, developing new products, strategic technologies, innovation and digital transformation.

The Steering Committee also assigned the BSR Innovation Center to continue expanding cooperation with research institutes, universities, and businesses inside and outside the industry with research capacity and modern facilities to promote research activities, technology transfer, and develop an innovation ecosystem. In the near future, the Center will sign a cooperation agreement with the Da Nang University of Technical Education in the field of research and training of high-quality technical human resources.

In addition, the Steering Committee assigned specialized units to coordinate with Petrovietnam in developing a set of criteria for evaluating comprehensive labor productivity, and at the same time research and develop a separate set of criteria suitable to the characteristics of BSR for application in performance management.

Another important task is to promote communication and corporate branding. The Steering Committee requested to strengthen internal and external communication on the Science and Technology Strategy, Innovation and Digital Transformation of Petrovietnam and BSR; spread the culture of innovation to each officer and employee through meetings, teambuilding programs, internal newsletters, etc. At the same time, build and promote the brand for new products of BSR such as White Spirit, SMFO; cooperate with the Department of Industry and Trade of Quang Ngai province in deploying the use of E10 bio-fuel in the province, contributing to the goal of developing green and sustainable energy.

The meeting ended in a spirit of high unity, demonstrating the determination of the Steering Committee and the entire BSR system in successfully implementing Petrovietnam's Science, Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation Strategy, contributing to building BSR into a pioneering, innovative and sustainable energy enterprise by 2030, with a vision to 2050.
