Proactively ensure school safety against storm Kalmaegi

On the afternoon of November 4, the Khanh Hoa Department of Education and Training issued a document requesting the People's Committees of communes, wards, and special zones to direct educational institutions under their management and units under and directly under the department to proactively respond to the storm near the East Sea (storm Kalmaegi).

The rain in mid-October 2025 flooded some roads in the province, making it difficult for students to travel.

Accordingly, the department recommends that units closely monitor the developments of storm Kalmaegi and floods, regularly keep in touch with authorities and local rescue forces to promptly respond in case of incidents. Along with that, develop plans to ensure the safety of students, teachers, and educational administrators; proactively let students take time off from school and develop plans to make up for lost classes at appropriate times; absolutely do not organize teaching and educational activities for students when safety is not guaranteed. At the same time, review, inspect, and strengthen school facilities, especially at remote schools in remote areas, where there is a high risk of landslides or flooding; move assets, machinery, equipment, desks, chairs, records, and textbooks to safe places to minimize damage, breakage, and loss. Units need to assign leaders to be on duty 24/7 to proactively handle situations that arise; Regularly report promptly to the Department of Education and Training for timely grasp and direction.
