According to the proposal of VinSpeed High-speed Railway Investment and Development Joint Stock Company, the urban railway connecting the center of Ho Chi Minh City - Can Gio when connecting to Ben Thanh station will basically follow the planned route direction, starting at Km0+00 of Ham Nghi - Le Loi intersection area, Ho Chi Minh City.
Go along Nguyen Tat Thanh through Nguyen Van Linh, Nguyen Luong Bang
The route goes southeast along Pho Duc Chinh Street, crosses Ben Nghe Canal to Le Quoc Hung Street.
After passing Xom Chieu market, the route changes direction along Nguyen Tat Thanh street. Near Tan Thuan 2 bridge area, the route changes direction southeast to Nguyen Van Linh street through the intersection with Nguyen Thi Thap street (about Km4+950) to Tan My ward.
The high-speed urban railway continues southward, crossing the intersection between Nguyen Van Linh Street and Phu My Bridge to Nguyen Luong Bang Street. The route turns southeast, going between Nguyen Luong Bang Street, Road 15B, Road D1 to Dia canal overpass at Km9+800 to Nha Be Commune.
After passing Nha Be commune, the route turns southeast through Van Phat Hung resettlement area, Phu Xuan residential area and crosses Soai Rap river (Km13+239) to Binh Khanh commune and runs to Can Gio station.

The high-speed railway project in the center of Ho Chi Minh City - Can Gio has a speed of 350km/h according to the initial plan, with the starting point located in Tan Thuan ward and the ending point in Can Gio commune.
Based on research and receiving opinions from members of the Appraisal Council (Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Finance as chairman of the council), VinSpeed proposed to adjust the route to start at the area in front of Ben Thanh market.
It is known that after adjusting the extension to Ben Thanh, the project has a total length of nearly 53km, an increase of nearly 4.5km compared to the original plan.
Regarding this project, on October 29, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc concluded in support of the investor's proposal to adjust the starting point of the line from Tan Thuan station to Ben Thanh station.
The adjustment of the route to Ben Thanh station aims to improve operational efficiency, increase service coverage, connectivity between residential areas, commercial centers and administrative economic centers, increase connectivity with the city's metro network, and contribute to the formation of a synchronous and convenient public transport network for people.
Also from the investor's proposal, the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee requested Vingroup Corporation to study the plan to develop underground space combined with developing public space in the Ben Thanh market area according to the city's general planning, in order to improve urban aesthetics, promote tourism economy, and improve regional traffic.
Widen the road from Ben Thanh to the sea
Immediately after the 1st Ho Chi Minh City Party Congress, many important decisions were made to connect and modernize urban transport infrastructure. Among them, the decision to stop the Nha Rong - Khanh Hoi complex project to convert it into a park and Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space was considered a major turning point, receiving great attention from the people.
A part of the land that has been dormant for many years is also being used to expand Nguyen Tat Thanh Street - a traffic jam in Ho Chi Minh City.
Thus, the expansion of Nguyen Tat Thanh Street, the construction of Can Gio Bridge, the Sac Forest intersection, and the Ben Thanh - Can Gio high-speed urban railway will connect seamlessly, creating a complete picture, shortening the journey from the center to Can Gio beach.
In fact, Ben Thanh used to be the hub of the Saigon railway that spread out in many directions.
Currently, this is the central metro station connecting metro line 1, metro line 2, metro line 4 (Dong Thanh - Hiep Phuoc) and there will be an additional Ben Thanh - Can Gio line. Connecting the above radial metro lines are other metro lines, including the surrounding belt lines.
When the network is completed, from Ben Thanh station, Ho Chi Minh City residents can reach Long Thanh airport via metro line 2 - Thu Thiem - Long Thanh railway. This line is currently being proposed for investment by Truong Hai Group Joint Stock Company (THACO).
Also from Ben Thanh, people can take metro line 1 (Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien) to Suoi Tien station. Here, people will have two directions. The first direction is to take metro line 1 (Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien) extending to Dong Nai, to Long Thanh airport. Also from Suoi Tien station, people can connect to old Binh Duong via metro line 1 (New City - Suoi Tien)...
