On November 4th, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction sent a document to the Department of Planning and Architecture and the People's Committee of Vuon Lai Ward regarding the expansion of Tran Binh Trong Street and information on the urban railway (metro) line related to the land plot at 1 Ly Thai To Street.
This is one of the steps in preparing the procedures for implementing the land redevelopment plans for plot number 1 on Ly Thai To Street.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction, Tran Binh Trong Street is a connecting road in the area, with an average width of 5 meters. Therefore, this road needs to be adjusted to 4 lanes, 17 meters wide, in order to enhance traffic capacity and ensure smooth traffic flow.
Regarding information on the urban railway lines passing through the city, according to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction, the plan includes two metro lines. Specifically, Metro Line 1, extending to the west of the city (Ben Thanh - An Ha section), is expected to follow Ly Thai To Street. Metro Line 3 (combining Metro Lines 3a and 3b) is expected to follow Hung Vuong Street.
Currently, both metro lines 1 (extended section) and 3 are in the investment preparation phase. The Ho Chi Minh City Urban Railway Management Board will select consultants to optimize the network, specify planning details, determine route alignments, project locations, and organize interconnected systems.
Therefore, during the implementation process, the relevant units need to coordinate and review the plan to guide the underground space planning in the area of land plot No. 1, Ly Thai To Street.
The park and iconic structures on plot number 1 Ly Thai To Street will be completed before Tet.
The plot of land at 1 Ly Thai To Street (Vuon Lai Ward), where Ho Chi Minh City is building a park and symbolic structure to commemorate the collective efforts and solidarity of the city's people in overcoming the COVID-19 pandemic, is a place to stop and reflect on the city's resilient journey.
Previously, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, Nguyen Van Duoc, instructed the Department of Agriculture and Environment to hand over the land plot at No. 1 Ly Thai To Street to the sponsoring unit, Sun Group Joint Stock Company, to implement the construction of a green park, playground space for the community, and a symbolic structure.
According to the plan, the project will be completed and put into use before the Lunar New Year of 2026.
