On November 4, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction sent an official dispatch to the Department of Planning and Architecture and the People's Committee of Vuon Lai Ward regarding the expansion of Tran Binh Trong Street and information about the urban railway (metro) line related to land plot No. 1 Ly Thai To.
This is one of the contents in preparing procedures to implement plans to renovate land plot No. 1, Ly Thai To Street.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction, Tran Binh Trong Street is a regional connecting road with an average width of 5m. Therefore, this road needs to be adjusted to 4 lanes with a width of 17m to increase traffic capacity and ensure smooth traffic organization.
Regarding information on urban railway lines passing through, according to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction, there are 2 planned metro lines. Specifically, metro line 1 extending to the west of the city (Ben Thanh - An Ha section) is expected to follow Ly Thai To street. Metro line 3 (combining metro lines 3a and 3b) is expected to follow Hung Vuong street.
Currently, metro lines No. 1 (extended section) and No. 3 are both in the investment preparation stage. The Ho Chi Minh City Urban Railway Management Board will select consultants to optimize the network, specify the planning contents, determine the route direction, project location and organize interconnection within the system.
Therefore, during the implementation process, the units need to coordinate to review and orient the underground space planning in the land area No. 1 Ly Thai To Street.
The park and iconic construction at land plot No. 1 Ly Thai To will be completed before Tet.
Land plot No. 1 Ly Thai To (Vuon Lai ward), where Ho Chi Minh City built a park and a symbolic work to recognize the solidarity and unity of the city's people in overcoming the COVID-19 pandemic, is a stop to look back on the city's resilient journey.
Previously, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment to hand over the land plot No. 1 Ly Thai To Street to the sponsor, the Sun Group Joint Stock Company, to build a green park, a playground for the community, and a symbolic project.
According to plan, the project will be completed and put into use before Lunar New Year 2026.
