The conclusion of the 33rd SEA Games demonstrates the success of Olympic sports in Vietnam's overall sporting achievements. To date, Olympic sports have brought in 59 gold medals, accounting for nearly 70% of the total gold medals won by the Vietnamese delegation.
If we include the 7 gold medals from the two key sports preparing for the Asian Games, namely Karate and Sepak Takraw, then the group of Olympic sports and key sports aiming for the Asian Games contributed 66 gold medals, accounting for 76.7% of the total gold medals won by the Vietnamese Sports Delegation at the 33rd SEA Games.
Besides the gold medals from swimming and shooting, Vietnamese athletics has proven its class in Southeast Asia. This will be a good foundation for the Asian arena and even further, for the Olympics.

In the individual events, we must also mention the contributions of Quách Thị Lan, who won the gold medal in her specialty 400m hurdles with a time of 56.82, and Nguyễn Trung Cường, who successfully defended his gold medal in the men's 3,000m steeplechase with a time of 8:55.32.

And we cannot fail to mention Bui Thi Ngan, who proved herself a worthy successor to Nguyen Thi Oanh by bravely facing and overcoming pressure to bring home the gold medal in the women's 1,500m race, after her senior teammate did not participate in this specialty event.
Alongside seasoned veterans, Vietnamese athletics has also made its mark with talented young athletes such as Tran Thi Loan (gold medalist in the women's long jump with a performance of 6.53m), and Bui Thi Kim Anh (19 years old - gold medalist in the high jump with a performance of 1.86m).

Athlete Nguyen Thi Ngoc contributed 3 gold medals to Vietnam's athletics team at the 33rd SEA Games.
Next, we must mention Nguyen Thi Ngoc - an athlete from Ha Tinh - who contributed 3 gold medals in the 400m, 4x400m relay, and 4x400m mixed relay events, making a significant contribution to the overall success of Vietnamese athletics at this SEA Games.
In the list of achievements for Athletics at the 33rd SEA Games, the contributions of team events must also be mentioned. In particular, the gold medal in the women's 4x400m relay, won by the four athletes Hoang Thi Minh Hanh, Le Thi Tuyet Mai, Nguyen Thi Hang, and Nguyen Thi Ngoc, helped Vietnamese Athletics achieve its target of 12 gold medals.
This also marks the third consecutive time that Vietnamese athletics has dominated the women's 4x400m relay at regional competitions (from SEA Games 31, 32, and 33).
Earlier, in the mixed 4x400m relay, the team consisting of Le Ngoc Phuc, Nguyen Thi Hang, Nguyen Thi Ngoc, and Ta Ngoc Tuong won the gold medal with a time of 3:15.07.

This result once again affirms the correct development direction of Vietnamese sports, which focuses on investing in Olympic sports and key sports with long-term strategic importance.
Despite only ranking 6th in terms of personnel, they still managed to reach 3rd place overall, which is not only an achievement in terms of medals, but also a testament to the effectiveness of training, competition organization, and athlete management.
