According to Vietnamese Ambassador to Korea Vu Ho, the Vietnamese community in this country has about 350,000 people, of which the southeast region alone has more than 87,000 people.
The community always promotes the tradition of solidarity, has many contributions to the socio -economic development of Korea, is highly appreciated by the local government, and always looks towards the homeland and country.
Speaking at the meeting, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, President Luong Cuong sent his warm regards and best wishes to the Consulate General staff and all the people.
The President informed the people about the domestic situation, preparations for the 14th National Party Congress, achievements, and shared information about the severe impacts caused by recent natural disasters and floods in the northern and central regions of our country.

President Luong Cuong was moved to learn that many Vietnamese workers, students, and brides are striving to improve themselves and are trusted and highly appreciated by Korean friends; and that associations of the Vietnamese community in Korea always maintain teaching Vietnamese, organize cultural and sports activities, and support each other.
The President hopes that the people will continue to promote the fine traditions of the nation, contribute to the development of Korea and strengthen the friendship between the two peoples, and strictly comply with the laws of the host country.
He affirmed that the Party and State are always ready to listen to the people's thoughts, aspirations and legitimate suggestions, pay attention to protecting their legitimate rights and interests, make efforts to expand cooperation programs on labor and education and create favorable conditions for them to return home to visit relatives, invest, do business and contribute to the homeland.
On this occasion, President Luong Cuong also presented Vietnamese books to the Vietnamese community in southeastern Korea.
