In response to the forecast that storm No. 13 (Kalmaegi) could cause very heavy rain and the risk of widespread flooding, the Department of Education and Training of Da Nang City has just issued an official dispatch requesting that preschool children, students, and trainees in the entire city be off school on the afternoon of November 6, 2025 to ensure safety.
Accordingly, vocational training institutions and private universities and colleges in the area are proactive in deciding on appropriate leave for students based on the actual situation.
The Department requires schools to proactively arrange a time to notify parents and arrange and assign teachers and staff to manage preschool children and students.
The Department of Education and Training of Da Nang requested units and schools to urgently deploy storm prevention and control work, paying special attention to ensuring the safety of students, teachers, workers, facilities and documents.
Schools must regularly check and reinforce classrooms, trees, signs, canopies, and electrical equipment; arrange time to notify parents, assign teachers on duty, and manage boarding and semi-boarding students.
The Department also noted that cooking should not be organized in facilities with boarding students to avoid food spoilage during power outages or prolonged heavy rain.
For schools with boarding students, principals need to arrange teachers and administrators to be on duty to ensure student safety in all situations.
Leaders of the Department of Education and Training of Da Nang city also requested units to proactively mobilize forces to overcome damage after the storm, clean schools, disinfect, and prevent epidemics to soon stabilize teaching and learning.
