Responding to Storm No. 13: Da Nang requests evacuation of people from dangerous areas

Accordingly, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City requested the City Military Command, City Police, Departments, Branches, People's Committees of communes, wards, special zones and related units to seriously implement the Response Plan for Storm No. 13.

The City Military Command, City Police, departments, branches, sectors, People's Committees of communes, wards, special zones and relevant units, based on the Response Plan for Storm No. 13 and the actual situation of the locality, urgently develop specific plans to respond to the storm in the sector, locality and unit to ensure timely and effective implementation; in which, urgently check and review areas and locations at risk of landslides, flooding, and severe flash floods to evacuate and relocate people to safe places, completing the relocation before 12:00 on November 6, 2025.

In the process of implementation, if there are any difficulties or problems, please report to the City People's Committee, the City Civil Defense Command (through the Military Command (Standing Agency), the Department of Agriculture and Environment (advisory agency on natural disaster prevention) for consideration and direction.

According to the report at 5:00 a.m. on November 5 of the City Border Guard Civil Defense Command, the total number of fishing boats in Da Nang City is currently 4,148 boats/21,000 workers. The total number of fishing boats operating at sea: 81 boats/2,926 workers. Of which: Coastal: 28 boats/56 workers. Offshore: 11 boats/48 workers. Truong Sa: 40 boats/1,806 workers. Gulf of Tonkin: 02 boats/14 workers. Currently, the boats have been notified by the authorities and moved to safe shelters.
The City Border Guard Command has directed coastal border posts to maintain search and rescue information stations; proactively count and count the number of people and boats operating at sea, especially fishing boats operating in areas affected by the storm.

At 1:30 p.m. on November 5, the Naval Region 3 Command towed the fishing boat DNa 90307 TS to the port of Brigade 172/Naval Region 3 and handed it over to Phu Loc Border Guard Station at the wharf. The City Border Guard Command dispatched ship BP 08.1101/05 to tow the distressed fishing boat from the wharf of Brigade 172/Naval Region 3 to Tho Quang fishing port safely.

The unit continues to strictly manage the activities of ships at sea (including boats on coastal beaches, nearshore activities, tourist boats, cargo ships...), measures to ensure the safety of people and property of people in coastal areas, on islands, on rafts and aquaculture areas. Standing forces and means with 350 officers, soldiers, 52 vehicles are ready to conduct search and rescue when situations arise.

According to the urgent storm bulletin of the Central Region Hydrometeorological Station, storm No. 13 (KALMAEGI) is moving West Northwest, at a speed of 20-25 km/h, likely to strengthen to level 14-17, expected to directly affect the area from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak, in which Da Nang will be affected by strong winds of level 8-10, gusts of level 11-12, heavy rain of 100-300mm, in some places over 400mm.
