On the afternoon of November 6, the leader of Truong Sa special zone, Khanh Hoa province said that storm No. 13 (Kalmaegi) when moving inland caused strong winds of level 10 in the northern area of ​​Truong Sa special zone, causing some trees to fall. Accordingly, from 0:00 to 4:00 a.m. on November 6, on Song Tu Tay Island, Truong Sa Special Zone, there was strong wind of level 10. By 5:00 a.m. on the same day, the wind level decreased. Storm No. 13 caused some trees on the island to fall and have broken branches. Currently, the forces on the island are carrying out cleaning and sanitation work after the storm.

As of 11:00 a.m. today, the weather in Truong Sa special zone has strong winds of level 6-7, gusts of level 8-9, rough seas with waves of 4-6 meters high. According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, General Department of Hydro-Meteorology, from tonight the wind in Truong Sa sea area will gradually decrease. More than 300 fishing boats with over 3,000 fishermen taking shelter from the storm at islands with ship locks in Song Tu Tay, Sinh Ton, Truong Sa, Da Tay... are currently safe in terms of people and property, ensuring strict implementation of anchoring and sheltering work until the end of storm No. 13.

Previously, to respond to storm No. 13, the military, people on the islands and fishermen fishing in the Truong Sa archipelago proactively took safe shelter plans, reinforced houses, tied down vehicles, moved people and property to safe places; strictly maintained on-duty regime, regularly updated and issued notices on weather and storm conditions; at the same time, increased support for fishermen by providing food, fresh water, medical care, ensuring a stable life in conditions where the storm could last. Rescue forces and vehicles are always ready to mobilize in case of emergency, not to be passive or surprised.

According to the second quick report of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Khanh Hoa, up to now, due to the impact of storm No. 13, Khanh Hoa province has not recorded any damage to people and property. Preparations for storm No. 13 are still being urgently implemented by departments, branches and local units in the whole province according to the urgent dispatch No. 03/CD-UBND dated November 5 on proactive prevention, avoidance and response to storm Kalmaegi.
