Agribank supports in overcoming damage caused by storms and floods, accompanies people in the Central region to overcome difficulties

(Chinhphu.vn)-On November 4-5, 2025, in the face of the severe damage caused by storm No. 12 in the Central region, the Agribank working delegation led by General Director Pham Toan Vuong worked with Quang Nam Branch and Hue Branch, the two most seriously affected areas, to grasp the situation, direct the recovery work and support people and businesses to soon stabilize production and life.

At the meeting, branches reported on the severe damage to agricultural production activities - the key sector that Agribank serves. Many transaction offices were deeply flooded, lost power, lost system connection, and suffered an estimated damage to facilities of about 5 billion VND. Immediately after the water receded, units promptly overcame the consequences, restored transaction activities, ensured system safety and supported customers to overcome difficulties.

These efforts not only demonstrate the mettle and solidarity of the Agribank collective, but also affirm the role, prestige and social responsibility of the bank - always accompanying the government and people in difficult times, restoring production and stabilizing life after natural disasters, said General Director Pham Toan Vuong.

Agribank Trade Union and working delegation visited, encouraged and gave gifts to officers and employees at Quang Nam branch and Hue branch.

With the working delegation, Chairwoman of Agribank Trade Union Tu Thi Kim Thanh visited and encouraged officers and workers at branches that suffered losses.

Agribank Trade Union donated 1 billion VND to Quang Nam Branch and 800 million VND to Hue Branch, demonstrating the spirit of gratitude, responsibility and internal solidarity, providing more resources for staff and employees to firmly overcome challenges.

At the same time, Agribank also supported customers affected by storms and floods, in which General Director Pham Toan Vuong directly visited and presented gifts to Hello International Vietnam Joint Stock Company - a long-time customer of Hue Branch, showing concern, sharing and commitment to accompany businesses to soon restore production and business.

Accompanying the local authorities, Agribank allocated 4 billion VND from the Social Security Fund to the Quang Nam and Hue branches to coordinate with the Central Region Representative Office to directly support communes and wards that were deeply flooded and suffered heavy damage.

Since the beginning of 2025, Agribank has spent about 70 billion VND on overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, out of a total of nearly 500 billion VND spent on social security activities nationwide.

The General Director of Agribank requested branches to urgently review credit portfolios, identify affected customers, especially loans with collateral such as houses, land, crops, and livestock; at the same time, immediately deploy preferential credit packages with simple procedures and quick disbursement, helping people repair their houses, restore production and business.

In the context of localities rearranging administrative units and being affected by storms, floods and economic fluctuations, Agribank branches remain steadfast in their goals, flexibly adapt, and maintain safe and effective operations.

The General Director highly appreciated the solidarity and creativity of the units, and emphasized the need to closely follow the orientation of the Headquarters and localities, improve credit quality, expand agricultural and rural credit, develop digital banking and promote social security.

In addition, branches need to coordinate closely with local authorities, proactively respond to the upcoming storm No. 13, ensure timely and appropriate support, and contribute to building the image of Agribank as professional - modern - friendly - for the community.
