Agribank promptly supports customers and workers in Da Nang and Hue affected by storms and floods.

During November 4-5, 2025, Agribank General Director Pham Toan Vuong led a working delegation to work with branches in Da Nang city, promptly grasp the damage caused by storms and floods, assess actual operations, remove difficulties, and orient key tasks to comprehensively complete the 2025 goals, creating a solid foundation for the 2026 plan. Also attending the working delegation were comrade Tu Thi Kim Thanh - Member of the Board of Directors, Chairman of Agribank Trade Union; comrade Do Duc Thanh - Member of the Party Committee, Deputy General Director and Head of Agribank's Organization and Personnel Department and representatives of leaders of a number of specialized Departments at the Head Office. On this occasion, the delegation visited, encouraged and supported officers, employees and customers who were severely affected by storms and floods, thereby demonstrating Agribank's sense of responsibility and practical companionship with employees and customers during difficult times.

Accompanying customers and workers to overcome the consequences of storms and floods

During the working session, the delegation listened to reports from Quang Nam Branch and Hue Branch - the two areas most severely affected by storm No. 12. According to the summary of the two localities, the damage is estimated at thousands of billions of VND, leaving 24 people dead and missing, 48 injured; more than 100,000 households flooded, many communes and wards were completely isolated, many traffic works, bridges, and embankments were eroded and seriously damaged. Notably, agricultural production - the key sector that Agribank serves - was severely affected, leading to many difficulties in production, business and consumption of agricultural products.

Faced with that situation, Agribank branches have closely coordinated with local authorities and customers to assess the situation, compile statistics and propose timely support solutions, helping people and businesses to quickly restore production and stabilize their lives. At Quang Nam Branch and Hue Branch, a number of type II branches and transaction offices were affected and had to temporarily suspend operations due to deep flooding, traffic disruption, power outages, and system disconnections; damage to facilities was preliminarily estimated at about 5 billion VND. Immediately after the water receded, the units promptly overcame the consequences, cleaned the headquarters, restored electricity and network, and ensured the safety of the transaction system; at the same time, actively supported people and customers to overcome difficulties, clearly demonstrating the role, responsibility and spirit of companionship of Agribank with the community during the challenging period.

General Director Pham Toan Vuong highly appreciated the proactive spirit, responsibility and timely participation of the branches. Although the impact of the storm and post-storm circulation was complicated, many areas were isolated and flooded, the branches still persisted in their areas, implemented effective response plans, ensured absolute safety for people and property and maintained smooth banking operations. These efforts not only demonstrated the mettle and solidarity of Agribank staff, but also affirmed the role, prestige and social responsibility of Agribank - always accompanying the government and people to overcome difficulties, stabilize life, and restore production after natural disasters," Mr. Pham Toan Vuong emphasized.

Speaking at the working program, Member of the Board of Directors, Chairwoman of Agribank Trade Union Tu Thi Kim Thanh deeply sympathized with the heavy losses that the staff and employees of Quang Nam Branch and Hue Branch had to suffer after storm No. 12. The Chairwoman of Agribank Trade Union affirmed that, as an organization representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of employees, Agribank Trade Union committed to always accompany branches and employees to overcome difficulties, restore production and business activities, and stabilize life after natural disasters.

With specific and practical actions, Agribank Trade Union presented 1 billion VND to the staff, union members and employees at Quang Nam Branch and 800 million VND to Hue Branch. The gift is a timely encouragement, demonstrating the affection, responsibility and loyalty of the Trade Union, adding resources and confidence for the staff and employees to firmly overcome difficulties and strive to complete their tasks well.

Along with caring for and supporting employees, Agribank also proactively accompanies customers affected by natural disasters. As part of the business trip activities, Agribank General Director Pham Toan Vuong directly visited, encouraged and presented gifts to the leaders and employees of Hello International Vietnam Joint Stock Company - a long-time customer of Agribank Hue branch that suffered heavy damage due to storms and floods, showing concern, sharing and commitment to accompany customers to quickly overcome difficulties and stabilize production and business.

The working delegation led by General Director Pham Toan Vuong visited and encouraged Agribank customers who suffered losses due to storms and floods.

Accompanying local authorities in overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, Agribank has allocated 4 billion VND from the Social Security Fund to 02 branches to coordinate with the Central Representative Office to organize working groups to directly support communes, wards and areas that were deeply flooded and suffered serious damage.

Box: Since the beginning of 2025, Agribank has spent about 70 billion VND to support disaster recovery, out of a total of nearly 500 billion VND the bank has spent on social security activities for the community across the country.

Faced with serious damage, the General Director requested branches in the area to urgently review the entire credit portfolio, promptly identify affected customers, especially loans with collateral such as houses, land, crops, and livestock. On that basis, units immediately deploy preferential credit packages to support people in repairing houses, restoring agricultural production, livestock and business, with simple procedures, quick disbursement, ensuring timely capital to customers.

Proactively adapt, ensure safe and effective business

Within the framework of the working program, the delegation listened to reports on the operations of the Quang Nam Branch and the Hue Branch after being reorganized into new administrative units. Although there were many difficulties in the initial stage due to changes in boundaries, personnel and management scale, the branches quickly stabilized to ensure safe and effective business operations, well serving the capital and banking service needs of people and businesses in the area. The units proposed and recommended, specifically: supplementing funding sources to overcome the consequences of storm No. 12; adjusting service collection and regular cost targets in accordance with reality, arranging the network, changing addresses in accordance with the two-level government boundaries, etc.

Comrade Do Duc Thanh - Deputy General Director, concurrently Head of Agribank's Human Resources Department, and representatives of several specialized departments gave opinions, exchanged, discussed and clarified many contents related to difficulties, problems and recommendations from branches. Right at the working session, many issues were thoroughly answered, detailed instructions were given, helping units promptly remove obstacles in the process of implementing tasks.

Concluding the working program, the General Director of Agribank acknowledged and highly appreciated the sense of responsibility, solidarity and efforts to overcome difficulties of the branches in Da Nang and Hue. In the context of the locality simultaneously implementing the arrangement of administrative units, being affected by natural disasters, storms, floods and economic fluctuations, the units remained steadfast in their goals, flexibly adapting, ensuring safe and effective operations. Recommendations and feedback from the grassroots are valuable channels of practical information, helping Agribank leaders promptly remove difficulties, improve mechanisms and policies, towards building an increasingly synchronous, flexible and effective operating system, the General Director emphasized.

Overview of the working session

Based on the results of the working program, the General Director requested branches in Da Nang and Hue to continue to closely follow the development orientation of the Head Office and the locality, proactively develop specific, flexible and practical action plans, focusing on improving credit quality, expanding agricultural and rural credit, promoting capital mobilization, developing digital banking services and ensuring operational safety. Based on the new administrative boundaries, branches need to proactively review and propose suitable operating locations; closely coordinate with local authorities in implementing public headquarters plans according to regulations; at the same time, accompany people and businesses in restoring production, developing the economy, being ready to prepare for timely response to storm No. 13, effectively implementing social security work, ensuring the right beneficiaries, contributing to building the image of Agribank as professional - modern - friendly - for the community.
