This afternoon, November 7, speaking with Thanh Nien reporter , Mr. Nguyen Van Huy, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ly Son special zone ( Quang Ngai ), said that Division 372 (under the Air Defense - Air Force) had dispatched helicopters to the Ly Son sea area to search for 3 men who went missing on the afternoon of November 6.

As reported by Thanh Nien , the incident occurred on the afternoon of November 6, when Mr. Duong Quang C. (44 years old, in Tay An Vinh village) jumped into the sea at Ly Son wharf area (in Tay An Vinh village, Ly Son special zone) due to a family conflict. Afterwards, Mr. Le Van S. (37 years old, in Tay An Hai village) and Mr. Phan Duy Q. (47 years old, in Tay An Vinh village) used a basket boat to rescue Mr. C.
Authorities also organized a search on shore.

After rescuing Mr. C., due to the big waves, the three people's basket boat could not reach the shore. Ly Son Border Guard Station coordinated with local authorities to mobilize Thanh Tam ship (VT 0035) with Mr. Dang Van Thanh as captain to organize the search .
At 5:30 p.m. yesterday, November 6, due to big waves and strong winds, the forces stopped searching for the three men.

Regarding storm Kalmeagi (storm No. 13) in Ly Son special zone, Quang Ngai, local statistics show that people's houses, roads, and production land areas were severely damaged.
Specifically, Ly Son fishing port was damaged by the waves, causing the concrete of the port foundation to peel off; 7 km of embankment around the island was leveled by the waves; 2 ships and boats were broken by the waves and drifted ashore... Estimated damage is about 50 billion VND.
