The cruelty of V-League
PVF-CAND entered the V-League this season with a ticket that brought many surprises. Quang Nam Club withdrew, causing the promotion spot that had been set to suddenly fall into the hands of Coach Thach Bao Khanh's team.
From a season that seemed to continue in the first-class environment, PVF-CAND was pushed straight to the highest playing field, where the challenges and pressure were many times greater. But that was also why the opening victory against SLNA in round 1 created a feeling of excitement and hope. A rookie "wet behind the ears" in V-League, not having much time to perfect the force, but immediately knew how to create a highlight with a 2-1 victory, making the audience believe that this young team did not have enough members.

However, football is sometimes cruel. From round 2 onwards, all expectations gradually turned into worries. In the last 9 matches, PVF-CAND could not win any, including 5 losses and 4 draws, a number that is enough to speak of the struggles and immaturity of the rookie team. It is worth mentioning that in many matches, coach Thach Bao Khanh's team had the advantage of leading the score, but the lack of courage at the crucial moment caused them to let their opponents turn the tables. After 10 rounds, PVF-CAND is at the bottom of the table with 7 points, scoring 10 goals but conceding 20 times (the most in the league so far). The home team PVF still has attacking moves, with a force of young players with individual abilities such as Nguyen Hieu Minh, Nguyen Xuan Bac and Nguyen Thanh Nhan... But in V-League, courage and experience are the main factors that determine success or failure, and PVF-CAND lacks this point.
Opening round 11, PVF-CAND had to face one of the most experienced, organized and ambitious teams in V-League, The Cong Viettel . The military team is currently ranked 3rd, close to the leading group and is considered by experts to be a candidate to compete for the championship this season. Although in the last few rounds, The Cong Viettel has shown a bit of fluctuating performance (losing to HAGL 1-2, then only winning against Thanh Hoa with the minimum score), but still cannot deny the superiority in all aspects of coach Velizar Popov and his team over PVF-CAND.
The Cong Viettel possesses a squad of experienced players, from the defense to the midfield, along with foreign players of good professional quality. The striker duo Lucao and Pedro Henrique are formidable "detonators" in the hands of coach Popov. However, the problem of The Cong Viettel recently lies in the finishing stage, when the strikers have not really taken full advantage of the opportunity. However, against an opponent with the weakest defense in the tournament like PVF-CAND, the strikers of the military team will know how to exploit it.
In theory, PVF-CAND has home field advantage. But this advantage only comes into play when the team has a solid psychological foundation. At the moment, PVF-CAND is in a different state of mind: each match is like a pressure test, where mistakes can cause a series of negative psychological effects. Coach Thach Bao Khanh understands that another defeat will cause PVF-CAND not only to stay at the bottom of the table, but also to risk entering a hiatus of more than 2 months in a state of confusion, which can easily lead to major changes internally.
