
Quang Ngai suffered a lot of damage due to storm number 13
On the morning of November 7, the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province reported that, to proactively respond to storm No. 13, the province has established 4 auxiliary command posts and 6 working groups to directly inspect and direct key communes and wards. Before the storm made landfall, 30,490 households with 89,738 people were relocated and evacuated to safe places, ensuring absolute safety for people.
As of 4 a.m. on November 7, storm No. 13 caused widespread heavy rain, flooding, landslides, and isolation in many areas. In Dong Son commune and Sa Huynh ward, the sea level rose about 40 cm, cutting off traffic.
In particular, in Ly Son island district, 3 people went missing at sea due to high waves and strong winds; search work is being urgently deployed by authorities.
The whole province had 61 houses with roofs blown off or damaged, 3 people missing in Ly Son; some traffic routes in Ba To, Long Phung, Son Mai districts were eroded, trees fell, obstructing travel. The coastal road in Long Phung commune was eroded for more than 230 meters, seriously affecting the lives of people in coastal areas. Some infrastructure works such as schools, electricity poles, fishing boats, and barns also suffered heavy damage.
Immediately after the storm dissipated, the Quang Ngai Provincial Military Command mobilized nearly 2,000 officers and soldiers along with thousands of militia, vehicles, canoes, rescue boats... to key areas to support people in overcoming the consequences.
Four auxiliary command posts were activated in key areas, directing and operating on-site responses according to the "4 on-site" motto. The Provincial Military Command maintained 24/7 duty, closely monitored weather developments, and was ready to mobilize forces when new situations arose.
