Ensuring electricity in the South: EVNSPC is determined in investment and construction work

(Chinhphu.vn) - Starting 49 projects, energizing 86 110 kV grid projects, disbursement value reaching 13,512 billion VND, equal to 93.2% of the plan assigned by EVN at the beginning of the year... those are impressive figures of Southern Power Corporation (EVNSPC) in investing in construction of power projects in the first 10 months of 2025. This result continues to be a testament to the solidarity, efforts, determination and innovation of the leadership and employees of EVNSPC.

EVNSPC does not let difficulties and obstacles become bottlenecks

Faced with the increasing demand for quality and reliable power sources, especially in key economic regions in the South, implementing the mission of "Electricity goes one step ahead", EVNSPC determined that the completion of investment and construction work is not only to increase the efficiency of capital use, enhance the ability to supply electricity to serve socio-economic development and people's lives, but also contribute to strictly implementing the policy of practicing thrift and fighting waste - one of the important tasks focused on by the Party and State. In that spirit, the Party Committee, the Board of Directors, and the Board of Directors of EVNSPC have resolutely innovated in direction, operation, and implementation, creating outstanding marks in 2025.

Since the end of 2024, EVNSPC Party Committee has issued Resolution No. 386-NQ/DU, dated December 30, 2024 on focusing on comprehensively completing investment and construction work in 2025. The Resolution clearly states: EVNSPC focuses resources on investment and construction work, identifying it as a core key task for resolute direction and operation.

Mr. Bui Quoc Hoan, Member of the Party Standing Committee, Deputy General Director of EVNSPC, said that in 2025, instead of concentrating the volume of powering projects at the end of the year as usual, EVNSPC leaders advocated changing the operation plan, speeding up construction progress right from the first days and months of the year, in order to take advantage of the dry season - the "golden time" in construction, installation, and transportation of materials and equipment.

This decision not only demonstrates a flexible and practical management mindset but also masters the plan and progress, helping to allocate human resources and resources effectively. Instead of passively implementing in the old way, EVNSPC has proactively seized opportunities, turning challenges into motivation.

At the same time, EVNSPC has promoted the application of digital technology, optimized human resources and promoted collective strength in construction investment. In addition to the construction investment management software system, EVNSPC has also deployed digital tools to update, monitor and control the progress of each project in real time. Zalo groups to monitor the progress of each project, meetings via zoom, video conferencing... have been deployed, helping the exchange of information, direction and operation to be carried out more quickly, flexibly and effectively. Thanks to that, difficulties and problems are promptly resolved.

The Party Committee, Board of Directors, and Board of General Directors of EVNSPC also directed specialized departments and member units to review and streamline procedures, shorten processing time; optimize technical designs, limit changes to save costs; strictly manage resources, ensure that the invested capital brings practical and long-term efficiency... As a result, many projects were completed in only 4-5 months, significantly reducing human and material costs while still ensuring technical and safety requirements.

Responsibility to set an example and unite

EVNSPC leaders, from the Chairman, members of the Board of Directors; General Director, Deputy General Directors in the Executive Board, all go directly to the site every week, closely follow each project, promptly resolve difficulties, and encourage the spirit of officers and employees. Especially, on holidays and New Year, such as Lunar New Year 2025, April 30, 2025 - May 1, 2025, September 2, 2025... and weekends, that exemplary spirit has spread strongly, urging tens of thousands of engineers and workers to work through holidays and New Year at construction sites.

EVNSPC also closely coordinates with localities in the process of implementing investment and construction projects. Regular exchanges and close coordination with localities not only grasp the electricity demand to promptly invest to meet the growth demand, but also promptly remove difficulties and obstacles, avoiding the situation of prolonged projects, causing waste.

In particular, with some localities, EVNSPC signed a coordination regulation in compensation and site clearance - one of the important steps that determine the progress and investment efficiency of projects. A typical example is the coordination between EVNSPC and the People's Committee of Ben Tre province (old) now Vinh Long.

The participation, drastic and close direction of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, the Provincial Party Standing Committee, the People's Committees of localities, departments, branches and People's Committees at all levels have brought about clear results... Provincial leaders, departments and branches regularly coordinate with EVNSPC units to visit each family that has not agreed on the site handover to mobilize and share about the importance and significance of each project.

With synchronous solutions, in the first 10 months of 2025, EVNSPC started 49 projects, energized 86 110 kV grid projects, many of which were backlogged and lasted for many years. There were 2 key projects completed in time to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, including: 110 kV transformer station of Hoa Binh industrial park and connecting line (An Giang province); 220 kV Chau Thanh transmission line on the 110 kV Vi Thanh - Long My line (formerly Hau Giang province, now Can Tho city).

Notably, in the first 4 months of the year alone, EVNSPC completed 50 110 kV power grid projects, as the most practical achievements to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification.

It can be affirmed that the innovation, pioneering, daring to think, daring to do of EVNSPC's leaders; the exemplary and pioneering spirit of the collective leadership, cadres and party members in the Corporation have built trust, aroused the spirit of solidarity, responsibility and pride in all EVNSPC employees, as well as contractors at the construction site.
