In order to proactively prevent and ensure electrical safety during the rainy and stormy season as well as when high tides cause flooding, in recent days, member Power Companies of the Southern Power Corporation (EVNSPC) have proactively inspected and reinforced the power grid, ensuring safe, continuous and reliable power supply to customers.
EVNSPC and its member units also coordinate with localities to organize propaganda and disseminate instructions on electrical safety measures during natural disasters, storms, and power grid corridor safety to electricity users on mass media, information channels of Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN), EVNSPC and Power Companies.

EVNSPC also recommends that households, agencies, units, schools, and building management boards immediately turn off circuit breakers and circuit breakers when there are signs of water entering the house or the management area shows signs of flooding; do not touch sockets, switches, or electrical equipment with wet hands; use anti-shock devices for electrical circuits; unplug unnecessary electrical equipment during thunderstorms.
At the same time, periodically check and maintain the electrical system in the family, agency, unit, school to ensure safety; install sockets, electrical wires and electrical equipment in high places, avoid places that are prone to humidity or flooding. In addition, it is necessary to install appropriate anti-electric leakage devices to ensure safety when using electricity; cut off the power supply to electrical equipment installed outdoors such as signs and billboards when it rains heavily or is windy.
EVNSPC also recommends that people should not arbitrarily connect or repair electricity if they do not have expertise. When discovering broken or flooded electric wires, they should not approach the scene on their own but should immediately report to the authorities or the local Electricity Company for timely handling. Do not stand near electric poles or take shelter under transformer stations when it rains or there is a thunderstorm; do not go on the terrace or roof if there are electric wires crossing.
When people in 8 southern provinces and cities, including: An Giang , Ca Mau, Vinh Long, Can Tho, Dong Thap, Dong Nai, Lam Dong, Tay Ninh, discover an electrical problem, they need to immediately report it to the local electricity unit or the Customer Care Center 19001006-19009000, which is always open 24/7.
According to the forecast of the functional sector, in the coming days, some provinces and cities in the Southern region will be affected by storm KALMAEGI, and at the same time, high tides are in a cycle of increasing. In the face of complicated and unpredictable weather conditions, to proactively prevent and ensure electrical safety during the rainy and stormy season for people, following the direction of EVNSPC, Southern Power Companies are focusing on implementing many solutions.

For example, Can Tho City Electricity Company is coordinating with the People's Committees of localities and units in the area to organize a general inspection and review of the entire power system in the city, especially high-risk areas such as residential areas, schools, markets and areas that are often deeply flooded; develop plans to proactively cut off power in deeply flooded areas to ensure the safety of people's lives; arrange forces on duty 24/24 hours, ready to handle any electrical incidents when there is rain, storms, or flooding.
