Heavy rain is making the flooding situation in many localities complicated.

Since noon on October 30, local areas in Vung Ang ward have been flooded due to heavy rain. Many roads and residential areas have been deeply flooded. In response to this situation, the Ky Anh Regional Power Management Team has proactively temporarily interrupted power supply in some areas to ensure people's safety.

Mr. Ho The Vinh - Deputy Head of the Ky Anh Regional Power Management Team said: "Since yesterday afternoon, some areas have been flooded into houses and have risen at many transformer stations. To ensure the safety of people, the Team has implemented a plan to temporarily interrupt power supply in some localized areas and deeply flooded areas. Today, we will continue to monitor the rain developments to proactively plan operations according to the approved disaster response scenario, initially assigning segments, temporarily suspending power supply in small areas, in case of widespread flooding, causing danger, then deploy a plan to interrupt power supply at medium voltage transformer stations; at the same time, prepare a shock team to handle incidents when they occur. The Team will also regularly monitor the situation, ensuring power is restored to customers when safety conditions are ensured".

On the night of October 30, the water level of Ke Go Lake was at 31.15/32.5m, equivalent to a capacity of 303.75/345 million m 3 and began to overflow. From 6:00 a.m. on October 31, Ke Go Lake (Cam Due commune) increased the overflow flow to 100 - 350 m 3 / second to cope with heavy rain. In the event of heavy rain combined with this overflow, the surface water level in the downstream areas: Cam Due, Cam Binh is likely to rise, possibly causing power problems for the people.

On the morning of October 31, the Cam Xuyen Regional Power Management Team continued to assign teams to inspect the power grid infrastructure throughout the system, fix problems, and ensure electricity supply for daily life, production, and business. The unit has also prepared a plan to ensure electrical safety during heavy rain. Mr. Pham Tuan Anh - Cam Xuyen Regional Power Management Team said: "We have activated the 24/7 on-call plan, ensuring a stable and safe power supply plan for daily life and production; promptly detect and handle locations that pose safety risks. At the same time, we send notifications to customers, recommending people, production and business establishments to be vigilant, and avoid unfortunate electrical accidents. Customers need to turn off the power when flooded, do not touch electrical equipment when wet, and promptly notify the electricity industry when detecting an incident."

At Ha Tinh Brick Supermarket (Cao Bridge, Cam Binh Commune), along with business activities still taking place as usual, the facility proactively ensures electrical safety in the conditions of prolonged heavy rain. Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Huyen - Manager of Ha Tinh Brick Supermarket said: "We regularly monitor the announcements of the electricity industry and weather forecasts, especially during the time when Ke Go Lake overflows and heavy rains like now. At the store, the electrical system has been installed high, with anti-shock devices, the main circuit breaker is located in a position that is easy to turn off in case of an incident. We also remind employees to absolutely not use electrical equipment with wet hands, not let electrical wires come into contact with water and proactively turn off all power sources in the warehouse and store areas to ensure safety, prevent fires and explosions and incidents related to safe use of electricity".

Faced with the complicated weather conditions, the electricity sector has implemented many synchronous solutions to ensure electrical safety for people and staff during operation and incident handling. In recent days, electricity units have increased inspection and monitoring of the operation status of the power grid system, especially in areas at risk of landslides, low-lying areas, and areas at risk of deep flooding; promptly detecting and handling weak points and damaged equipment, preventing power grid incidents when heavy rains occur.

Ha Tinh Electricity Company also requires leaders of units to have a firm grasp of the area, all incident handling activities must have a safety plan and be carried out in accordance with the correct procedure. When checking the power supply to the power line, especially in flooded areas, it must be carried out according to the principle of "Checking safety to where - Supplying power to that place". During the implementation process, it is necessary to check for electrical leakage on the poles and generators that transmit back to the grid to prevent electrical accidents.

The electricity industry also recommends that people should not be subjective, always take precautions, ensure electrical safety, do not touch electrical equipment when wet or in flooded areas; turn off the main power source in the house when water floods in; do not attempt to repair electricity when there is a problem but immediately contact the local electricity company.

People should not take shelter from the rain, hang billboards, cast nets, or fish near power lines or stations; only use electricity again when the water has receded and the system has been inspected and confirmed to be safe.
