This is a large-scale cultural and artistic activity, affirming Hanoi's position in the UNESCO Creative Cities Network. This year's Festival aims to honor the thousand-year-old cultural heritage of Thang Long - Hanoi, spreading the spirit of connection between the past and the present, and opening up new approaches to creativity in heritage conservation.
With a series of more than 30 unique cultural, artistic and tourism activities, the Festival will be a meeting point between tradition and modernity, where national cultural values are recreated, created and spread in contemporary life.
A vibrant heritage space in the heart of Hanoi
At the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam, visitors will be immersed in a series of activities called "Heritage Convergence", where the quintessence of the three capitals of Thang Long - Hue - Hoa Lu and the Central Highlands provinces converge. Traditional craft products are displayed from 8am to 9pm every day, creating a unique space for connecting regional cultures.
In addition, Ho Van area will become a meeting place for young creativity with activities such as experiencing crafts, designing, making Do paper cards, drawing Hanoi-themed cookies, or recycling environmentally friendly materials.
In particular, the fashion show “Ao Dai on the Heritage Road” taking place on November 2 will honor Vietnamese beauty through 10 collections by famous designers such as Minh Hanh, Trinh Bich Thuy, Cong Huan, Viet Bao…
The art space “Thanh Tan Hanoi” (November 2-16) and the exhibition “Heritage and the Future” (November 3-16) recreate the journey of Thang Long culture from the past to the present. Along with that, the art program “Oh Hanoi” and the international discussion “East-West Cultural and Educational Heritage” promise to bring a multi-dimensional perspective on heritage in the era of integration.

In particular, the music night “Eternal Moments” on November 8 with the participation of Swiss composer Dominique Barthassat and creative community groups in Hanoi will be an emotional international highlight.
In addition, the Hanoi Ao Dai Tourism Festival (November 7-9) and the Hanoi Puppetry Festival (November 15) will continue the emotional flow, honoring the beauty of traditional culture in the open space of the Hanoi Museum and Hoan Kiem Lake area.
Thang Long - Hanoi Festival 2025 is not only a cultural festival but also a journey connecting artists, designers, researchers and the creative community. The spirit of "Heritage - Connection - Time" is expressed through talks, workshops, performances and interactive activities, inspiring creativity from the original values.
This year, the event also celebrates the 10th anniversary of the Tug of War rituals and games being recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The international workshop “A decade of protecting and promoting Tug of War rituals and games” and the international tug of war exchange at Tran Vu temple (November 16) will be an opportunity for heritage communities from Vietnam, Korea and many other countries to spread the spirit of solidarity, respect and sharing.
This year’s festival is considered a “bridge” between the past, present and future, where heritage is renewed through creativity, art and technology. From ancient spaces such as the Temple of Literature, the Imperial Citadel, to the brightly lit Hoan Kiem Lake area, every experience aims at the message of “heritage living with the times”.
Hanoi - UNESCO Creative City is asserting its position by creating influential cultural events, spreading Vietnamese values to the world. Thang Long - Hanoi Festival 2025 is a vivid demonstration of that aspiration: to awaken love for heritage, affirm identity, and inspire creativity for today and tomorrow.
