Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue EVNCPC held an emergency meeting to respond to Typhoon No. 12.

On the morning of October 22nd, EVNCPC held an emergency meeting to direct its units to focus on responding to Typhoon No. 12. Prior to this, the Corporation had issued Official Dispatch No. 93/CĐ-EVNCPC dated October 21st, 2025, directing its units to immediately implement measures to respond to heavy rain, floods, inundation, flash floods, and landslides.

EVNCPC has identified its top priority as ensuring continuous and safe electricity supply for customers while minimizing damage caused by storms. The EVNCPC Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue Command has reviewed flood response plans and requested its subordinate units to immediately implement specific measures.

Measures include: intensifying vegetation clearing along the transmission line corridors, coordinating with local authorities to cut and trim trees at risk of falling; inspecting and reinforcing headquarters, warehouses, workshops, 110kV substations, intermediate stations, and rooftop solar power systems. Units are deploying personnel on duty 24/7, and sufficient spare parts, equipment, and vehicles are prepared to promptly address any incidents. Simultaneously, units are inspecting telecommunications, dispatching, and information technology infrastructure to ensure continuous communication during storms.

For hydropower plants, EVNCPC requires strict adherence to the operating procedures for interconnected and single-reservoir systems, compliance with local government regulations, and ensuring dam safety. Project management units are required to review construction sites, relocate equipment, cover materials, and deploy personnel for storm monitoring.

Deputy General Director and Head of the Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue Command Board of EVNCPC, Nguyen Huu Khanh, emphasized that preparations for responding to Typhoon No. 12, accompanied by exceptionally heavy rainfall in the Central region from Quang Tri to Gia Lai , must be carried out thoroughly to minimize damage and ensure the safety of staff and workers. He requested that all units absolutely not be complacent, strictly implement the "four on-the-spot" principle, monitor critical river and stream water levels, reinforce substations, power poles, and power lines, and deploy personnel on standby 24/7.

EVNCPC also requested that its units closely coordinate with local authorities in addressing the consequences of the disaster, while also strengthening communication and guidance to people on safe electricity use during the rainy and stormy season, contributing to ensuring the safety of lives and property and the stable operation of the power system in Central and Central Highlands regions.

Local authorities, such as Da Nang City, have also requested the Da Nang Power Company to closely monitor the flood situation in order to promptly cut off power in deeply flooded areas, while ensuring power supply to flood control pumping stations.
