Hanoi accelerates projects to build bridges over the Red River.
Accordingly, the projects are still facing some difficulties related to land clearance, relocation of underground and aboveground infrastructure, construction conditions during the rainy season, handling complex geological foundations, and procedures related to national defense land.
Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Bui Duy Cuong emphasized that these are all key transportation projects of special significance to socio -economic development, national defense and security, and the expansion of the capital's development space. Therefore, relevant departments, localities, and units must focus intensely and coordinate closely to overcome difficulties and ensure the set progress.
Currently, the basic policy mechanisms are no longer problematic. Communes and wards, with the committed progress, are focusing on accelerating the completion of land clearance work and handing over the land to the investor and construction contractor. The project's progress will not be affected by land clearance issues. The city requires localities to urgently complete land clearance, relocate all underground and aboveground structures, and resolve all outstanding issues by June 30, 2026 at the latest.
Specifically for the Tran Hung Dao bridge project, relevant agencies must complete the procedures regarding national defense land by June 2026 to hand over the site for construction.
Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Bui Duy Cuong also instructed relevant departments and agencies to proactively coordinate and promptly resolve issues related to construction permits, traffic diversion, relocation of technical infrastructure, design adjustments, and funding to ensure that projects are implemented smoothly, cost-effectively, and meet deadlines; and to promptly report to the city any issues beyond their authority.
The Hanoi City Investment and Construction Project Management Board for Transportation Infrastructure has developed critical path plans for the completion of the Red River bridge projects. The city has assigned the Department of Construction to be responsible for appraising and approving these critical path plans, and reporting them to the city as a basis for implementation. Based on these critical path plans, progress checks are conducted weekly for each work item.
Regarding the Giang Bien and Le Chi bridges, investors are required to promptly complete the necessary documentation for official submission to the City People's Committee…
