Since its establishment in May 2025 and becoming a branch of the Ho Chi Minh City Veterans Association in October 2025, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Veterans Association has quickly stabilized its organization, completed its apparatus, and developed its force to 23 branches with 495 members.

In a short time, the association has implemented many effective emulation movements associated with the political tasks, administrative reform, and digital transformation of the City.
Associations at all levels have actively participated in building and protecting the Party, the government, and revolutionary achievements; focusing on activities to educate the young generation on patriotism, love of socialism, and revolutionary heroism.

Speaking at the congress, comrade Huynh Tan Dinh, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Inspection Committee of the Party Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, praised the sense of responsibility, creativity and initial results of the Association of War Veterans of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee. The Association has demonstrated its role as an exemplary socio-political organization, a force of exemplary solidarity and discipline, and a reliable support for the Party Committee, government and people of the City.

According to comrade Huynh Tan Dinh, entering a new development phase when Ho Chi Minh City operates a two-level local government model, promotes digital transformation and innovates public administration, each cadre, party member, civil servant, and public employee, including members of the Veterans Association of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, continues to innovate thinking, improve courage, maintain faith and promote the heroic revolutionary tradition.

He suggested that the association should continue to promote the qualities of “Uncle Ho’s soldiers” in the new period. Along with that, it should closely coordinate with political and social organizations, especially the Youth Union, in educating traditions and nurturing revolutionary ideals for the young generation.

In particular, strongly innovating the content and methods of operation, building a model of "Electronic Veterans Association", modern, dynamic, worthy of being a pioneer in the digital transformation of the City.
The Congress announced the decision to appoint the Executive Committee, the Inspection Committee, the President and Vice President of the Association for the 2025-2030 term; and the delegation to attend the Congress of the Ho Chi Minh City Veterans Association. At the same time, certificates of merit were awarded to 10 collectives and 20 individuals with outstanding achievements in the 2022-2025 period.
Comrade Doan Truong Quang was appointed as Chairman of the Association of War Veterans of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, term I, 2025 - 2030.
