Exemplary veteran emulation

Leaders of the Association of War Veterans of Thoi Lai commune presented money to support people affected by natural disasters to representatives of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thoi Lai commune.

The Association of War Veterans of Thoi Lai commune has just mobilized its cadres and members to contribute 8.2 million VND to help people affected by natural disasters. Previously, the Association of War Veterans of Thoi Lai commune mobilized 62.5 million VND to organize activities to honor families of war invalids and martyrs on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27). Since the beginning of 2025, the Association of War Veterans of Thoi Lai commune has regularly encouraged war veterans to participate in humanitarian and charitable activities, donate blood; mobilize members who have the conditions to give gifts to war veterans in difficult circumstances on holidays and Tet and give scholarships, notebooks, books, and learning tools to students who have overcome difficulties to study well. Mr. Nguyen Van Nghia, Chairman of the Association of War Veterans of Thoi Lai commune, said: "The programs organized by the Association of War Veterans of Thoi Lai commune attract many members and people to support. In particular, in 2025, we mobilized to support 1 member with 60 million VND to build a house".

From 2022 to now, the Association of War Veterans of Thoi Lai commune has launched members to respond to many movements and campaigns, such as: "All people unite to build new rural areas, civilized urban areas", "All people protect national security", "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods"; "Planting trees forever to remember Uncle Ho"... The Association of War Veterans of the commune has built many skillful mass mobilization models to concretize the patriotic emulation movement "Exemplary war veterans", such as: "6 no" club, "War Veterans' Team to propagate and maintain urban order - traffic order", "War Veterans participating in civil defense teams, self-managed people's groups", "Beautiful roads"... In which the model "Planting trees to prevent landslides, protect the environment" stands out. Up to now, cadres and members of the Association of War Veterans have planted 8,000 mangrove trees along 12km of canals and ditches; planted 300 star and oil trees on 3km of roads.

The Association of War Veterans of Cai Khe Ward coordinates well with the Ward Military Agency and the Ward Youth Union in the work of selecting and calling citizens to join the army; receiving soldiers who have completed their military service and returned to their localities; implementing well the Army's rear policy; propagating on building a national defense foundation, educating the younger generation on traditions... The Association of War Veterans of the Ward coordinates to grasp the local situation, contributing to preventing and fighting crimes, ensuring political security and social order and safety in the locality. In particular, the Association of War Veterans of the Ward well implements the movement "All people protect national security", the "5 in 1" models, "Security cameras"... Many officers and members of the Association of War Veterans of the Ward actively participate in patrolling, restoring urban order and discipline and ensuring security and order in the areas.

The cadres and members of the Cai Khe Ward Veterans Association promote the qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers", unite, and help each other improve their lives. Up to now, the Ward Veterans Association has directed the establishment of a team fund to support the construction of houses for veterans, a revolving capital fund, and help each other develop family economy . The Ward Veterans Association mobilizes cadres and members of the War Veterans Association to participate in many economic cooperatives owned by veterans, such as: raising fish, growing clean vegetables, making salt, fish sauce, etc. The cooperatives have helped war veteran members increase their income by 3-5 million VND/person/month. Every year, members of the cooperatives contribute to support upgrading alleys, building embankments, and giving gifts and rice to members and people in difficult circumstances.

War veterans in communes and wards have been exemplary, creative, dynamic, and actively participated in socio-economic development and maintained national defense and security. Thereby promoting the traditional qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" in the new situation, becoming a reliable support for the Party and local authorities.
