Tay Ninh suffered more than 61 billion VND in damage due to floods.

For nearly two weeks, prolonged heavy rains combined with floods from upstream have caused water levels in many canals and fields in the Dong Thap Muoi area to rise rapidly, causing widespread flooding. Many low-lying residential areas have been isolated, and people have had to mobilize vehicles to jack up their properties, reinforce embankments, and prevent flooding.

According to statistics, heavy rains and storms caused more than 9 billion VND in damage; floods more than 38 billion VND. In addition, landslides on river banks and canals in many dangerous locations threaten houses, traffic works and riverside production land.

Faced with the above situation, local authorities established on-call teams to support people in reinforcing their houses, building dikes to protect residential areas, and placing warning signs and regulating traffic at deeply flooded and landslide-prone areas.

The Department of Agriculture has instructed farmers to harvest the remaining areas early; prepare seeds and materials to restore production after the flood recedes. For the agricultural areas that have been completely lost, the locality is making statistics to apply support policies according to regulations.

Local health forces have stepped up propaganda on disease prevention and control after the flood, provided clean water, disinfectants, and supported the treatment of domestic water sources. Organizations and philanthropists have donated necessities, life jackets, and flashlights to help people in flooded areas stabilize their lives in the short term.

According to the Southern Region Hydrometeorological Agency, in the coming days, rain may still appear locally, and water may recede slowly in many low-lying areas. People are advised to closely monitor weather forecasts, limit travel through deep flooded areas, and proactively protect property and livestock./.
