
Youth of Regiment 5 cleans Chau Thanh Martyrs' Cemetery
The image of green-shirted union members and young soldiers of Regiment 5 working side by side in youth projects and work has become familiar to the people.
Each repaired road, each house of gratitude built, each law dissemination session to the people, or the activities of "Volunteer Saturday" and "Green Sunday" are all imprinted with the spirit of volunteerism and solidarity between the two colors.
Mr. Le Thanh Tung - Head of the Veterans Association of Suoi Muon Hamlet shared: "Thanks to the support of the soldiers of Regiment 5 and the youth union members of the commune, the hamlet's roads are paved with clean concrete, with cool green trees on both sides. The children also regularly come to clean the martyrs' cemetery, dredge canals, repair houses, and give gifts to families with meritorious services..."

Not only stopping at youth projects, the two units also regularly coordinate to organize activities such as "Returning to the Source", "Red Journey", talks, youth forums with rich and vivid content. Thereby, contributing to fostering national pride, educating revolutionary traditions, and raising the sense of responsibility to the Fatherland for local union members and youth.
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Tri Phuoc - Secretary of the Youth Union of Regiment 5 said: "Not only coordinating traditional education, the two units also jointly organize activities such as military camps, cultural and artistic exchanges, big games, and legal propaganda for teenagers and students, helping them better understand the rights and obligations of citizens, thereby increasing their pride and readiness to volunteer to fulfill their sacred duty to the Fatherland."
The programs "Spring for Soldiers - Tet for the Army and People", "Repaying Gratitude", "Zero-VND Market" have become meaningful traditional activities every time Tet comes and spring comes. The images of soldiers of Regiment 5 and union members and youth of Chau Thanh commune visiting and giving gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, policy families, poor students overcoming difficulties, children orphaned by the Covid-19 epidemic or organizing free medical examinations and medicine distribution... leave many good impressions in the hearts of the people.

Youth of Regiment 5 supported a kindergarten in Chau Thanh commune to clean up.
Mr. Le Ngoc Minh Hung - Standing Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Chau Thanh Commune, Secretary of the Chau Thanh Commune Youth Union said: "From 2022 to now, the two units have coordinated to organize more than 30 activities, attracting more than 1,000 union members and young people to participate. These numbers demonstrate the dynamic and creative spirit of the Youth Union movement, affirming the responsibility of young people in preserving and promoting the tradition of the army and the people as fish and water"./.
