Economic development must go hand in hand with environmental protection.

With 38 years of experience in the plastics manufacturing industry, Duy Tan Recycling Joint Stock Company (DUYTAN Recycling) keeps pace with trends in Vietnam and around the world.

Aiming for a balance between economic viability and environmental and social sustainability, the company researched a green transformation model, focusing on plastic recycling technologies. In 2019, the company began construction of a factory in Long An province (now Tay Ninh province) and commenced operations in 2020. DUYTAN Recycling carries the "mission" of reducing environmental pollution from plastic waste in Vietnam.

With a designed capacity of 100,000 tons of plastic per year, DUYTAN Recycling collects approximately 200 tons of plastic bottles every day.

DUYTAN Recycling (Duc Hoa commune) has the "mission" of minimizing environmental pollution from plastic waste in Vietnam.

To secure its raw material supply, DUYTAN Recycling has established a collection network from scrap collectors (informal workers), a force that acts as an "extension" to make the collection of plastic bottles from the environment increasingly effective.

To date, the company has established a collection network at 3,300 locations. After collection, the plastic bottles are processed and transported to the factory, where they undergo various processes to produce recycled plastic pellets.

According to Le Viet Dong Hieu, Head of Sustainable Development at DUYTAN Recycling: “Recycled plastic pellets will be supplied to FMCG brands worldwide to produce new plastic bottles. We are proud to have major partners such as Coca-Cola, Suntory PepsiCo, and Unilever, and we are delighted that their factories are located in Tay Ninh province. The investment orientation and environment in the province are very favorable for businesses to develop.”

Currently, the company continues to expand and connect its collection network. Along with expanding the collection network, DUYTAN Recycling also focuses on ESG criteria, including environmental, social, and governance issues.

In terms of social responsibility, the company collaborates with numerous international organizations and agencies to enhance the capacity, awareness, and professional knowledge of the informal workforce.

In addition, the company provides tools, personal protective equipment, and implements healthcare and social welfare activities for informal workers, thereby contributing to boosting the productivity of each worker.

DUYTAN Recycling (Duc Hoa commune) collaborates with Unilever to implement a plastic bottle recycling program.

With its core values of Integrity - Quality - Innovation - Responsibility - Sustainability, DUYTAN Recycling is increasingly gaining trust and becoming a leading plastics manufacturing brand in Vietnam. In 2023, DUYTAN Recycling was the first recycling enterprise in Vietnam to be honored with the High-Tech Enterprise certification awarded by the Ministry of Science and Technology.

Furthermore, during the production process, the company maintains 25 certifications, not only from Vietnam but also internationally. Specifically, these include FDA certification from the US Food and Drug Administration; EFSA certification for products exported to the European market; and OPP (Ocean Power Plastic) certification, which recognizes the collection of plastic bottles from beaches to contribute to a greener, cleaner, and more beautiful environment in Vietnam.

Many solutions to improve and enhance the Green Index.

Over the past period, Tay Ninh province has consistently maintained the principle that economic development must be linked to environmental protection. The province has focused on leading and directing departments, agencies, and localities to implement solutions to improve the component indicators of the Green Index (PGI) through promoting awareness campaigns to improve community understanding of environmental protection and responding to the negative impacts of climate change; applying scientific and technological advancements to enhance the effectiveness of environmental management; strengthening the fight against environmental crimes, promptly detecting and handling violations of environmental protection regulations, aiming for green growth and sustainable development.

To contribute to improving and enhancing the PGI in a focused and effective manner, the province has implemented several solutions: Disseminating information within the political system, among the people, and businesses in the province to raise awareness of green growth and development aimed at minimizing greenhouse gas emissions towards a net-zero emission target by 2050.

At the same time, thoroughly address pollution hotspots and improve environmental quality; encourage existing businesses to transition and adopt modern technologies to reduce emissions; restrict the acceptance of investment projects in industries with a high risk of environmental pollution, prioritizing those with limited emissions and that are environmentally friendly.

Furthermore, the province focuses on the management and treatment of solid household waste and urban wastewater; strengthening the capacity for collecting and treating solid household waste generated in the province, contributing to environmental protection through attracting investment and mobilizing resources to effectively implement tasks; and promoting the application of digital transformation in waste management to improve the efficiency of waste management throughout the province.

In addition, the province is investigating and surveying the current state of production technology, developing a suitable roadmap for converting or replacing outdated technologies that emit large amounts of greenhouse gases with environmentally friendly technologies; building pilot models of green industrial parks, focusing on attracting logistics services in the province; using resources efficiently, and using environmentally friendly raw materials and energy;...

Nowadays, manufacturing businesses are increasingly aware of their role and responsibility in environmental protection. Along with environmental protection, green production is an advantage that helps businesses enhance their brand, attract consumers, and penetrate demanding markets around the world.
