Typhoon Kalmaegi is strengthening to level 14, gusting to level 17.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting (NCHMF), at 1 p.m. today (November 5), the center of storm Kalmaegi (number 13) was located at about 11.8 degrees north latitude and 117.6 degrees east longitude, about 360 km east of Song Tu Tay Island (in Truong Sa special zone).

The strongest wind in the storm center is level 13 - 14 (134 - 166 km/h), gusting to level 17. The storm moves at a speed of 20 - 25 km/h.

At 1:00 p.m. on November 6, the center of storm No. 13 was about 290 km east-southeast of Quy Nhon ( Gia Lai ), with a strength of level 14 and gusts of level 17.

Affected by the storm, the central East Sea area (including the sea area north of Truong Sa special zone) has strong winds of level 8 - 11; the area near the storm's eye has strong winds of level 12 - 14, gusts of level 17, waves 5 - 7 m high, the area near the storm's eye has waves of 8 - 10 m high; the sea is very rough.

From early morning of November 6, the sea area from southern Quang Tri to Khanh Hoa (including Ly Son special zone, Cu Lao Cham island) gradually increased wind to level 6 - 7, then increased to level 8 - 11, the area near the storm center passed through strong level 12 - 14, gusting to level 17; coastal areas from Hue city to Dak Lak had waves 4 - 6 m high, the area near the storm center had waves 6 - 8 m high; the sea was very rough.

Inland name from the evening of November 6, on the mainland coastal area from southern Quang Tri to Da Nang city, the eastern part of the provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak, the wind will gradually increase to level 6 - 7, then increase to level 8 - 9, the area near the storm center will be strong at level 10 - 12 (focusing on the eastern part of Quang Ngai - Dak Lak provinces), gusting at level 14 - 15.

From the evening and night of November 6, in the west of the provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak, the wind will gradually increase to level 6 - 7, near the storm's eye it will be level 8, gusting to level 10.

On November 6-7, the area from Da Nang City to Dak Lak will have very heavy rain with common rainfall of 200 - 400 mm/period, locally over 600 mm/period; the area from southern Quang Tri to Hue City, Khanh Hoa and Lam Dong will have heavy rain with common rainfall of 150 - 300 mm/period, locally over 450 mm/period.

From November 7-8, the area from northern Quang Tri to Thanh Hoa will have moderate to heavy rain with common rainfall of 50-150 mm/period, locally very heavy rain over 200 mm/period./.
