Da Nang localities proactively respond to storm No. 13

DNO - Faced with the complicated developments of storm No. 13 (Kalmaegi), localities in Da Nang city are urgently implementing response plans.

On the afternoon of November 5, Chairman of An Hai Ward People's Committee Hoang Cong Thanh and local officials visited households in low-lying areas to encourage people to prepare evacuation plans according to the government's announcement.

The ward People's Committee requested functional units to prepare forces, vehicles, and rescue equipment to respond to the storm. At the same time, deploy measures to ensure the safety of people and property, especially in tourist areas, coastal areas, and riverside areas.

The Ward Economic - Infrastructure and Urban Department coordinated with relevant units to mobilize maximum human resources to clear sewers and water intakes; dismantle manhole covers; trim trees to prevent them from falling; and develop plans to ensure environmental sanitation before, during and after the storm.

The Center for Public Service Provision stepped up propaganda about storm No. 13; coordinated with the Son Tra Project Management Board to direct construction units, especially high-rise buildings, to strictly implement measures to ensure safety for constructions and people's property.

An Hai Ward Police and Son Tra Border Guard Station mobilized forces and vehicles to be ready to respond, ensure security and order, and safety of property and boats.

* Tra Tan Commune is one of the localities heavily affected by prolonged heavy rains, causing widespread flooding and landslides in recent days.

Pursuant to Official Dispatch No. 09/CD-UBND dated November 3, 2025 of the Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City, the People's Committee of Tra Tan Commune urgently deployed measures to respond to storm No. 13 and floods according to the motto "4 on-site".

The locality requires relevant departments and offices to prepare plans to evacuate and requisition schools, village headquarters, cultural houses, agency headquarters... as shelters for people during the storm.

* Son Tra Ward People's Committee has also made a plan to evacuate 32 households with about 115 people in the stone stream areas, along the stream on Nguyen Tuan Thien Street, along Le Van Luong and Yet Kieu Streets to a safe place.

At the same time, request units on duty to closely monitor weather developments and deploy disaster prevention and control plans according to the "4 on-site" motto.

Son Tra Border Guard Station counts and guides boats to avoid storms and ensure safe anchoring before storms. The Economic - Infrastructure Department monitors and advises on response and handling of flooding, landslides and traffic safety.

The Son Tra Peninsula Management Board monitors the risk of landslides. The Tho Quang Fishing Port and Lock Management Board arranges for boats to take shelter from the storm. The Public Service Delivery Center and the Electricity Management Team update the storm situation, ensuring information, electricity and travel safety for the people.

* In Duy Nghia commune , the locality continues to send forces on duty 24/7; closely monitor the developments of floods and rains, and proactively deploy response plans as storm No. 13 is approaching the shore.

The Commune People's Committee has proactively evacuated 152 households with 572 people in a mixed manner to ensure safety before the storm.

* Hai Van Ward requests the Police, the Ward Military Command and the Public Service Supply Center to proactively arrange forces and means to respond to storm No. 13 and heavy rain, especially in vulnerable areas and coastal areas.

Units coordinated to mobilize people to reinforce their houses; bring boats to safe shelters, ensure no boats operate offshore; and evacuate workers from mountainous areas.

At the same time, check, put up warning signs, strictly implement the ward's disaster prevention and control and search and rescue plan.

The locality requested the City Urban Infrastructure Management Center to assign people to be on duty 24/7 at the Nam My water plant dam project, ready to respond and have a plan to operate the Nam My dam when there is rain or flood.

Regarding landslides, Hai Van ward deployed forces to clean up, handle the silted soil and rocks, and clear the drainage pipes over the past 3 days.

On Highway 601, there was subsidence and cracks on the road surface. The Ward People's Committee deployed forces to clean up and reported to the Department of Construction to promptly implement treatment plans.
