After making landfall, storm No. 13 (international name Kalmaegi) caused a lot of damage in Gia Lai, Dak Lak , and Quang Ngai.
Strong winds for nearly 5 hours, Quy Nhon residents brace for the storm
At around 5pm on November 6, storm No. 13 made landfall in Quy Nhon. After nearly 5 hours of raging in Quy Nhon, under the terrible wind, a series of metal roofs were blown off by the wind. Immediately after the storm landed, about 10 minutes later, many areas suffered widespread power and water outages.
The storm did not subside until around 7 p.m. Along some main roads, many trees were knocked down and uprooted, and some houses near the sea and lagoons were destroyed by the wind.

At around 8pm, the wind continued to blow strongly (weaker than the previous one), many people hurriedly closed their doors to prevent the wind from blowing into their houses. At around 10pm, the wind calmed down but still blew in gusts.
Dak Lak: 1 person died due to house collapse
After storm No. 13 made landfall, Dak Lak province recorded many initial damages. Authorities were promptly present in key areas to rescue people and overcome the consequences of natural disasters.
On the evening of November 6, a leader of Xuan Lanh commune, Dak Lak province confirmed that due to the impact of storm No. 13, at about 8:00 p.m. the same day, a house in the commune collapsed, killing one person. The victim was Mr. NQT (born in 1980, residing in village 4, Xuan Lanh commune).
When the incident happened, local authorities and people took Mr. T to the infirmary for emergency treatment, but due to severe injuries, Mr. T later died.
According to statistics from authorities, after making landfall, storm No. 13 caused a lot of damage to people in Dak Lak province, especially in the areas of Song Cau town, the old Phu Yen province.
Specifically, Xuan Canh commune has 6 houses with blown-off roofs and 1 collapsed house. Song Cau ward, Xuan Dai ward, Xuan Loc commune also recorded 1 house with blown-off roof each.
In Tay Hoa commune, a low voltage battery exploded in Phuoc Thanh Dong village; an electric pole fell in Xuan Thanh 2 village. In Hoa Hiep Nam ward, 3 houses had their roofs blown off. In Tuy An Bac commune, 3 houses had their roofs blown off.
Son Thanh commune, Tuy Hoa ward, Phu Hoa 1 commune, Phu Yen ward, and Binh Kien ward all had houses with blown roofs and partially collapsed houses.
On the night of November 6, the water level of Ky Lo River rose due to the hydroelectric dam releasing floodwaters, causing many downstream areas in the eastern part of Dak Lak to be deeply flooded. Military and police forces were present in key areas to assist in evacuating people to safety.
Meanwhile, storm No. 13 made landfall, causing a series of trees to fall in coastal communes and wards of the province. Local police and militia promptly coordinated with local people to clean up and ensure traffic safety.
Quang Ngai: Waves breach the embankment, causing flooding in residential areas
Storm No. 13 caused big waves and high tides, causing coastal erosion and localized flooding in some coastal areas of Quang Ngai province.
High tides combined with large waves continuously hit the embankment of Thach By 1, Sa Huynh ward on the evening of November 6, causing many houses in Con hamlet to be submerged in seawater.

According to residents of Con hamlet, at 8:00 p.m. on November 6, waves broke through the embankment, causing localized flooding in more than 110 households, with some areas experiencing water depths of up to 1 meter. Many residents had to rush out at night, leaving their belongings behind.
Upon receiving the news, Sa Huynh ward leaders directed functional forces to be present at Con hamlet to move people across the whirlpool to safety.
According to the reporter, seawater overflowed the Sa Huynh sea embankment and flooded into the residential area near the People's Committee of Sa Huynh ward; at Sa Huynh port, sea waves tossed a number of boats anchored at sea onto the shore; in the coastal area of Chau Me village, sea waves also caused serious erosion.
In Ly Son special economic zone, in a quick exchange with reporters, Mr. Nguyen Van Huy - Chairman of the People's Committee of Ly Son special economic zone said that high tides caused large waves to hit residential areas in the area. The locality is facing a situation where rising sea levels have flooded many houses. Localities require people not to leave their homes until the high tide recedes.
According to the Quick Report of the functional forces of Quang Ngai province, the whirlwind in the storm on the evening of November 6 caused the roofs of 50 houses in Long Phung commune (45 houses), Ba To, Ba Dinh, Ngoc Linh to be blown off. High tides caused coastal erosion in Long Phung commune with a length of 230m./.
