Heavy rain due to storm No. 13 circulation, Song Luy reservoir increases flood discharge

On the afternoon of November 7, according to information from the Management Board of Song Luy Lake (Phan Son Commune, Lam Dong), due to the influence of storm No. 13, the current rainfall in the upstream areas of Tu Son, Song Khieng, 812 - Chau Ta (Song Luy), Song Dekatru... dams flowing to the downstream of Song Luy is very large.

Along with the upstream rainfall from 13:00 to 15:00 on the same day, the water level in Song Luy reservoir reached 458 m3/s. At this time, the reservoir is regulating the discharge of 50 m3/s, while the source water flow continues to increase.

Faced with that situation, the Song Luy Lake Management Board announced that from 5:00 p.m. on November 7, the lake will increase the regulated discharge flow to 100 m3/s, and if heavy rain continues, by 7:00 p.m. it can increase to 150 m3/s to 200 m3/s.

To proactively respond and minimize damage to people and property, the People's Committee of Bac Binh commune has issued a document requesting village chiefs to immediately notify people of flood warnings along rivers and streams so that they can proactively evacuate people and property to safety.

The commune authorities also regularly check, review and update the situation in residential areas along the river, areas at risk of flooding and landslides; prepare good evacuation plans, ensuring the safety of people's lives and property. Forces are organized to be on duty 24/7 to monitor and promptly respond when situations arise.

The Commune People's Committee also requested the mobile militia force to be on duty 24/24 hours, ready to participate in rescue operations according to the "4 on-site" principle; coordinate the organization of shock troops, proactively deploy response measures, and minimize damage. Along with that, coordinate with relevant agencies, units and the Executive Boards of villages to prepare forces and means to promptly carry out rescue operations when necessary; effectively deploy plans to prevent heavy rains, floods and landslides in the locality.

According to records, due to the influence of storm No. 13, on the afternoon of November 7, heavy rain appeared in many communes in the Southeast of the province such as Phan Thiet, Phu Thuy, Ham Liem, Ham Thanh...
