Two fishing boats in Phan Ri Cua sank due to broken anchor in the circulation of storm No. 13.

On the morning of November 8, due to the impact of storm circulation No. 13 (KALMAEGI) and the rising flood discharge on the Luy River, two fishing boats of fishermen in Phan Ri Cua commune (Lam Dong) had their anchor ropes broken, drifted out to sea and sank.

Two fishing boats of fishermen in Phan Ri Cua commune had their anchors broken, drifted out to sea and sank due to the influence of storm No. 13.

Specifically, fishing boat BTh 80681 TS, 11.5 meters long, 45 CV capacity, trawling, owned and captained by Mr. Chau Vu Khuyen (born in 1979, residing in Minh Tan 2 village, Phan Ri Cua commune, Lam Dong province), and fishing boat BTh 88320 TS, 12.2 meters long, 30 CV capacity, owned and captained by Mr. Tran Van Duc (born in 1982, residing in Xuan Giang 2 village, Phan Ri Cua commune), had their anchor rope broken while anchored on the Luy River, drifted out to sea and sank.

Fortunately, there were no casualties, but property damage was estimated at around 310 million VND. Immediately after the incident, the authorities coordinated with local authorities to continue to inform and educate fishing boat owners about the situation of flood discharge, requesting that boat owners proactively reinforce anchors, protect boats, and minimize damage.
