By the late night of November 6, storm No. 13 (Kalmaegi) had caused heavy damage in many coastal localities, downstream areas in the east of Dak Lak province (formerly Phu Yen ) and the east of Gia Lai province (formerly Binh Dinh).

Strong winds of level 10-11, gusting over level 12, along with heavy rain, caused hundreds of houses to have their roofs blown off, many roads to be deeply flooded, trees and electric poles to fall in large numbers, causing traffic safety risks and widespread power outages.

According to local authorities, Song Cau ward was the most affected area. The entire residential area along the Tam Giang river was flooded 1-1.5m deep. In the evening, the high tide continued to rise, leaving four households in An Binh Dong residential group isolated and unable to go out. Some households had to climb onto the roof of the cupboard to wait for the authorities to arrive.
