Tourism industry proactively deploys measures to respond to storm Kalmaegi and overcome floods

The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism issued Official Dispatch No. 2643/CDLQGVN-VP dated November 6 to the Department of Tourism; Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the provinces and cities: Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Tri, Hue, Da Nang, Quang Ngai, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Khanh Hoa on proactively preventing, avoiding, and responding to storm Kalmaegi and overcoming the consequences of floods.

Pursuant to Official Dispatch No. 5908/BVHTTDL-VP dated November 4, 2025 of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on focusing on quickly overcoming the consequences of floods in the Central region; Official Dispatch No. 5909/CD-BVHTTDL dated November 4, 2025 on proactively preventing, avoiding, and responding to storm KALMAEGI, in order to proactively prevent, avoid, and respond to storms and floods after the storm in a timely manner, ensuring safety for tourists, minimizing damage to tourism facilities and infrastructure caused by storms and floods, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism requests the Departments of Tourism, Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism of provinces and cities to urgently implement the following contents:

Seriously implement the instructions of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in Official Dispatch No. 5908/BVHTTDL-VP and Official Dispatch No. 5909/CD-BVHTTDL; continue to implement the contents of Official Dispatch No. 2242/CDLQGVN-VP dated September 26, 2025 of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism on proactively responding to storms.

Timely grasp difficulties, advise and propose solutions to competent authorities to support tourism service businesses and community tourism households in areas heavily affected by floods after storms to quickly stabilize production and business life after storms.

Directing management boards of tourist areas, attractions, and tourism service establishments in the area:

- Proactively coordinate closely with local authorities, functional agencies and relevant units to organize forces to support people and tourists in affected areas.

- Comprehensively review and assess the extent of damage to tourism infrastructure and technical facilities (equipment at destinations, accommodation facilities, means of transport...), thereby focusing resources to quickly repair and restore damaged infrastructure after storms.

- Develop plans and roadmaps for reopening destinations and tourism services affected by storms safely and effectively. Organize environmental sanitation and disinfection within the premises to ensure clean and beautiful tourist landscapes; ensure safety and environmental sanitation standards before welcoming guests back.

- Strengthen communication and tourism image promotion, affirm the safety and readiness of destinations to welcome visitors after the storm; develop new and attractive tourism programs and products, incentive and promotional programs to attract tourists.

Synthesize and report to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism any incidents or damages (if any) in the tourism sector before, during and after the storm for timely handling instructions.
