Quang Ngai: Many cracks appeared on the hill, threatening 54 households

On November 5, Mr. Dinh Xuan Hoa, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ngoc Linh Commune, Quang Ngai Province, said that through inspection, the authorities discovered that a hill near Dak Sun village had many cracks, posing a risk of landslides, threatening the lives and property of the people.

The location of the crack threatens people's safety.

The cracks stretch for hundreds of meters, many sections are more than 50cm deeper than the old surface. Some concrete roads near this area also have cracks. Behind the hill is home to 54 Xo Dang households, the risk of landslides will increase if the rain continues.

According to the leader of the People's Committee of Ngoc Linh commune, the commune government has developed a plan to be ready to immediately evacuate all 54 households if heavy rain occurs. In addition to the Dak Sun area, the Dak Re and Long Nang villages are also warned of a high risk of landslides. The commune is closely monitoring the situation to promptly respond and ensure the safety of the people.

It is known that the recent storm and flood caused severe damage in Ngoc Linh commune, causing serious landslides on many inter-commune and inter-village roads, damaging irrigation works, domestic water supply systems and isolating 5 villages for many days.
