Chairman of the People's Committee of Thuong Duc Commune, Phan Trung Phi, said that more than 1km of Vu Gia river bank in Hoi Khach Dong and Hoi Khach Tay villages suffered serious landslides. More than 300m of embankments were eroded and damaged at locations such as Khe Cai bridge embankment, Thai Chan Son bridge embankment, Mau Lam village pumping station, etc.
On the morning of November 5, the locality mobilized militia and local youth to urgently reinforce the landslide site on the negative slope of Khe Cai bridge embankment with sandbags.
Although the landslide is only about 15m long, there is a risk of deep erosion, affecting the bridge structure and the safety of more than 100 households in group 9, Dai My village.
This temporary reinforcement is to limit the impact of water flow on the entire embankment, especially the impact of floods caused by the upcoming storm No. 13.

Regarding the Vu Gia riverbank landslide, the nearest point is now only about 5-10m away from the concrete road and houses. The locality is surveying and assessing the level of landslide and recommending the City People's Committee to implement a solid embankment project or arrange resettlement for households in the dangerous area.
