ĐNO - On the morning of November 6, the Department of Agriculture and Environment sent a document requesting departments, branches, localities, units and businesses to proactively respond to rain, storms and floods in environmental protection work, focusing on mobilizing forces and mechanical vehicles to clean up and collect garbage in residential areas and beaches.

Accordingly, the Department of Agriculture and Environment requested localities to launch a general clean-up of streets and residential areas; collect garbage, tree branches, leaves, damaged materials; handle environmental treatment in low-lying flooded areas; mobilize forces to support environmental sanitation service providers in handling the situation of water fern and garbage drifting, especially at beaches.

At the same time, propagate and mobilize people not to dump daily household waste with storm and flood waste (tree branches, leaves, water-soaked or damaged items, etc.) to facilitate the collection and transportation of household waste, avoiding accumulation and causing environmental pollution; do not throw garbage and leaves into manholes and rainwater inlets on the road surface, do not use tarpaulins, cloth, wood, etc. to cover water inlets.

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism directed the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang tourist beaches to coordinate with relevant units to strengthen inspection and supervision, promptly detect and handle environmental issues; proactively clean up the environment at beaches, ensuring landscapes for tourism.

Environmental sanitation service providers proactively coordinate with relevant units, mobilize forces and vehicles to urgently clean up, collect, transport and treat garbage after rain, storms and floods, prioritizing main roads in urban areas and coastal areas in their areas of responsibility.

Units ensure safe operation of factories and domestic waste treatment areas in the city (Khanh Son Solid Waste Treatment Complex, Tam Xuan 2, Tam Nghia, Dai Hiep, Hoi An, Bac Quang Nam, etc.); urgently check all HDPE tarpaulins covering the surface of landfills, reinforce and anchor tarpaulins to prevent storms; cover tarpaulins in garbage dumping areas according to regulations; clear the rainwater drainage system, prevent overflow into the leachate collection system...

Production, business and service establishments in the city and wastewater treatment plant operators must prepare response plans for incidents caused by rain, storms and floods; strictly prohibit the discharge of waste in violation of regulations...
