
Due to the complicated developments of storm No. 13 (international name Kalmaegi), the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has directed the issuance of a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) to temporarily suspend operations from the afternoon of November 6 for 5 airports in the Central region.
Accordingly, the affected airports include: Buon Ma Thuot, Pleiku, Tuy Hoa, Chu Lai and Phu Cat.
The above airports will temporarily suspend operations from the afternoon of November 6 to the morning of November 7 (local time), depending on the specific developments of the storm.
Specifically, Phu Cat Airport will temporarily suspend operations from 4 p.m. on November 6 to 3 a.m. on November 7; Chu Lai Airport will temporarily suspend operations from 8 p.m. on November 6 to 5 a.m. on November 7; Tuy Hoa Airport will temporarily suspend operations from 3 p.m. on November 6 to 0 a.m. on November 7; Pleiku Airport will temporarily suspend operations from 9 p.m. on November 6 to 6 a.m. on November 7; and Buon Ma Thuot Airport will temporarily suspend operations from 10 p.m. on November 6 to 6 a.m. on November 7.
Previously, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam issued a document directing relevant units to proactively prevent and respond to storm No. 13, ensuring safety of flight operations, people and property at airports, and minimizing negative impacts on flight operations.
Airports inspect port infrastructure systems, communication systems... to promptly detect and handle damages (if any) to ensure safety for works, stations, and ensure safety for operations at airports.
Airports deploy plans to prevent rain and storms, measures to prevent flooding, clear water flows in airports, protect facilities, vehicles and equipment at airports, minimize damage caused by rain and storms and quickly stabilize all aviation activities to serve the needs of passengers.
In addition, the airport needs to closely monitor the developments of storm No. 13 to have plans to adjust flight plans or change flight schedules accordingly and ensure safety for flight operations.
Fully update meteorological information from relevant aviation meteorological facilities and based on the actual situation to deploy necessary response actions, minimize impacts on operations, ensure flight safety, protect people and property of the unit from natural disasters.
