
On November 6, the Defense Command of Region 1 - Cam Le mobilized maximum forces and means, closely coordinated with local authorities to synchronously deploy measures to prevent and combat storm No. 13.
Implementing the "4 on-the-spot" motto and the spirit of "serving the people", the forces urgently supported people in evacuating, reinforcing houses, clearing sewers, and being ready to respond to possible bad situations.
In Son Tra ward, militia forces and officers of the Defense Command of Region 1 - Cam Le coordinated with local authorities to evacuate 33 households with 117 people in areas at high risk of landslides, especially at the foot of Son Tra mountain and the southwest area of Da stream to take shelter in safe places.
In Hai Van ward, 7 households with 25 people in Ta Lang residential group were moved to a safe place. Hoa Xuan ward also organized the evacuation of 1 household with 8 people to take shelter at Tran Dai Nghia Secondary School.
In Hoa Tien commune, the Defense Command of Area 1 - Cam Le coordinated the evacuation of 8 households with 30 people in Phu Son village to Hoa Khuong Primary School No. 2 and 4 households with 17 people in Huong Lam village to Hoa Khuong Primary School.
Hoa Vang Commune has proactively relocated 173 households with 865 people, arranging them to be interspersed with high-rise, solid buildings of local residents, ensuring safe shelter with adequate living conditions.
In addition, the militia and self-defense forces of wards and communes coordinated with local authorities to support houses, trim trees, reinforce structures, and clear sewers, contributing to minimizing damage when storms hit.
The Defense Command of Region 1 - Cam Le strictly maintains combat readiness, regularly reports the situation, coordinates with friendly units to firmly grasp the area, and is ready to mobilize when required.
The entire area currently has 21 officers and soldiers on duty and 176 militia on duty at key points. As of late afternoon of the same day, a total of 222 households with 1,062 people in the area had been evacuated to safety.
Meanwhile, the Defense Command of Region 4 - Ban Thach proactively deployed drastic measures to respond to storm No. 13.
Agencies and units have proactively inspected and fortified warehouse systems and barracks; prepared adequate technical means, materials, equipment and mobilized forces, closely coordinated with the Civil Defense Command of communes and wards to direct forces to actively implement safety measures such as: reinforcing roof systems, bracing people's houses, trimming trees, transporting boats, boats, household items... in key areas where the storm made landfall and passed through, to minimize damage caused by the storm.
