Quang Ngai: Landslides detected, risk of collapse, 28 households urgently relocated.

On October 31st, the Command of Defense Zone 1 - Son Tinh, in coordination with the People's Committee of Tay Tra Bong commune, Quang Ngai province, urgently relocated 28 households from areas at high risk of landslides.

At approximately 10:00 AM on October 31st, in Hamlet 4, Tra Van Village, Tay Tra Bong Commune, residents discovered signs of landslides around the area, including cracks in the ground over 400 meters long and 10-30 centimeters wide. Upon discovery, residents immediately reported the incident to the Tay Tra Bong Commune People's Committee.

Cracks and subsidence have been detected in Hamlet 4.

The Command of Defense Zone 1 - Son Tinh inspects areas surrounding locations at risk of landslides.

Responding to requests from local authorities and under the direction of the Quang Ngai Provincial Military Command, the Zone 1 Defense Command - Son Tinh coordinated with the Tay Tra Bong Commune People's Committee to deploy forces to the grassroots level, visiting each household to disseminate information, mobilize support, and assist 28 households, with over 170 people, in relocating from areas at high risk of landslides.

Proactively relocate residents to safe areas.

The Command of Defense Zone 1 - Son Tinh also deployed permanent forces to coordinate with the police and local organizations at the affected areas, erecting barricades, posting warning signs, and organizing patrols to prevent people from returning to the landslide area until safety is ensured.

The Command of Defense Zone 1 - Son Tinh donated 10 boxes of dried food rations to be distributed to displaced people.

28 households have been relocated to three evacuation sites: the kindergarten, the commune health station, and the former Tra Nham Commune Military Command. The forces have ensured accommodation and meals for the residents. In addition, the Son Tinh Regional Defense Command 1 donated 10 boxes of dried food rations to Tay Tra Bong commune for distribution to residents at the relocation sites.
