The Traffic Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police has just planned to increase the deployment of forces on roads affected by high tides, deep flooded areas, and areas prone to traffic jams to guide and regulate traffic.
Traffic police also coordinated with the Commune Police, Youth Union, and grassroots security to carry out rescue work.
This move is to support people, facing the situation of some roads being seriously flooded, and at the same time to proactively respond to storm No. 13.
On waterways, the Traffic Police Department also arranged forces to be on duty 24/7; prepared boats, life buoys and combined patrols throughout. Specifically, the force focused on areas prone to tornadoes, strong currents, sharp curves, constructions under construction, weak bridges, and areas at high risk of landslides to warn people.
At the same time, strengthen inspection, provide guidance on regulations, safety measures and experience in accident prevention and flood and storm prevention for vehicle owners.
Coordinate with functional units to survey, set up barriers and warning signs at heavily flooded and dangerous road sections; check drainage systems, sewers and vulnerable points on the road to handle promptly, avoid blockages causing heavy flooding.
