The Department of Education and Training of Quang Ngai province has requested localities and units to allow students to stay home from school from the afternoon of November 6 until further notice. Schools must review and reinforce facilities such as metal roofs, windows, classrooms, trees, dormitories, etc. to limit damage caused by storm Kalmaegi.
The Department of Education and Training also requires units to proactively relocate and preserve teaching equipment, records, documents and back up electronic data in safe places. Schools with suitable conditions should be ready to coordinate with local authorities to receive and support people to take shelter from the storm when necessary.
In addition, schools must maintain regular contact with students and teachers in areas at risk of isolation and organize 24/7 on-call duty during the storm.
After the storm passed, the Department of Education and Training of Quang Ngai province required schools to quickly overcome the consequences, clean up, and check safety before welcoming students back to class.
According to some localities, many communes in Quang Ngai have announced that students will be off school from tomorrow morning, November 6.
