The urgent announcement on the afternoon of November 5 from the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City said that it was based on the decision of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to urgently deploy plans and measures to respond to the impact of storm Kalmaegi.
The Department of Education and Training requests heads of educational institutions to urgently implement the following specific contents:
Focus on implementing preventive and response measures when storm Kalmaegi affects Ho Chi Minh City; prepare plans to respond to the impact of storms, especially thunderstorms, tornadoes, landslides, and flooding caused by heavy rain combined with high tides.
At the same time, urgently repair and reinforce structures at risk of being unsafe, coordinate with specialized units to trim the green tree system inside the school, check the sewer system, drainage ditches, and power grid to ensure the safety of students, teachers and administrators before storms and floods occur.
Prepare plans to evacuate students and teachers to safe places; move documents and equipment to dry places before storms and floods. The Department of Education and Training requests school leaders to proactively coordinate with local authorities to receive professional support, supplies and equipment when situations arise.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training requires the suspension of all extracurricular educational activities before, during and after the storm.

Actively coordinate with the local Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue to organize propaganda for teachers, students and parents on disaster response skills, first aid and safety in emergency situations.
In particular, suspend extracurricular educational activities for students before, during and after the storm until safety measures return to normal.
