According to images recorded by local people, the waterspout was dozens of meters high, swirling strongly, creating a white column of water in the middle of the sea. Some tourists quickly used their phones to record this rare moment.
People living along the coast of La Gi said that this is not the first time a waterspout has appeared in this area. In the past month or so, La Gi sea has occasionally seen whirlpools offshore for a short period of time.
According to meteorological experts, waterspouts (also known as tornadoes on the sea surface) are rare natural phenomena, often formed when there is a temperature difference between the air and the sea surface, accompanied by strong convective cloud development.
Waterspouts typically do not cause major damage if they occur far from shore, but can be dangerous to vessels operating near the area.

Fortunately, the waterspout dissipated quickly this afternoon and did not affect fishermen or boats offshore. However, local authorities advise coastal residents to actively monitor weather forecasts and avoid going out to sea when the weather is bad or there are dark clouds or unusual whirlwinds.
