Lam Dong people support 16 tons of green vegetables and rice for people in flood-hit areas of Central Vietnam

On the morning of November 5, a truck carrying more than 6 tons of vegetables, 10 tons of rice, 1,300 boxes of instant noodles and many other necessities departed from Duc Trong commune (Lam Dong) towards the Central provinces affected by storms and floods.

According to the program's organizers, the total value of the goods sent this time is about 1.5 billion VND, including more than 1,300 boxes of instant noodles, 10 tons of rice, 500 life jackets, more than 6 tons of fresh vegetables, and dozens of other necessities.

All goods were mobilized after only 3 days of calling, demonstrating the spirit of sharing and "helping each other" of the people in the highland vegetable region.

In addition, philanthropists in Lam Dong also contributed more than 100 million VND in cash to support relief work and overcome the consequences of natural disasters.

Mr. Phan Anh Dung, Deputy Head of the volunteer group, said that immediately after receiving information about the damage in the Central region, the group called for donations of a large amount of necessities and cash to help people overcome the current difficult period.

People and traders in Lam Dong province donated more than 1,300 boxes of instant noodles.

In recent days, people and traders in Duc Trong and Dinh Van Lam Ha communes have joined hands to contribute agricultural products and goods.

From vegetable gardens, cabbage, carrots, potatoes are harvested, cleaned, packaged for shipping by the people. Not only farmers, small traders and volunteer groups in the province and many other benefactors also actively participate in mobilizing and contributing.

Mr. Van Ngo, Head of the volunteer group, said that all goods were carefully classified and packaged before being transported. The gifts will be delivered directly to people in areas heavily affected by storms and floods.
