In addition to increasing forces and equipment on duty 24/7, concentrating forces in key directions and areas to be ready to respond when situations arise, the Border Guard Command also deployed units on the sea route to fire warning flares for storm No. 13 starting from the evening of November 5.
Inform owners of ships and boats operating at sea about the sea conditions and direction of storm No. 13 so that they can proactively come ashore to anchor to ensure safety; maintain rescue forces and means when situations arise, including 400 officers and soldiers, with 30 vehicles (ships, boats, cars...); mobilize 4 canoes, along with 42 officers and soldiers to organize propaganda for vehicles to enter safe anchorage areas.
To date, 1,048 local fishing vessels and 7,237 workers have come ashore and anchored at the port. Currently, there is one vessel and 10 workers on the sea on their way to shore, expected to arrive at the anchorage area to avoid the storm at around 3:00 p.m. on November 5.
In addition, at Thuan An port there are 10 vehicles, with 35 crew members and no cargo; at Chan May port there are 17 vehicles (13 Vietnamese, 4 foreign) and 168 crew members, 1 passenger, 10,968 tons of coal anchored at the ports to avoid and shelter from the storm.
The unit's forces have also identified areas at risk of flooding and landslides that need to be relocated. In particular, the focus is on coastal areas, lagoons and low-lying areas; areas at risk of flooding and isolation when there are floods in A Luoi 1, 2, 3 communes with about 6,151 households/26,501 people located in the coastal border stations, Hong Van and Quang Nham border stations.
