The province currently has 2,691 fishing vessels with 10,994 workers operating. As of noon on November 5, there were 121 fishing vessels with 662 workers operating at sea. Colonel Nguyen Van Linh, Deputy Commander of the Provincial Military Command and Commander of the Provincial Border Guard Command, said that in the face of the complicated developments of storm No. 13, officers and soldiers of the unit urgently implemented response measures across the entire route.
Specifically, the Border Guard deployed forces and vehicles to key areas, especially coastal border communes and wards; reviewed and grasped vulnerable areas at risk of high tides, flooding, flash floods, landslides, and tornadoes. The unit deployed 2 working groups; mobilized 100 officers and soldiers to be ready to perform tasks on the sea and land border when situations arose; and propagated to people to strictly follow the sea ban order of the Provincial People's Committee.
At the same time, direct Xuan Dai Border Guard Station and Squadron 2 to fire storm warning flares to inform ships still at sea of the danger level, request proactive movement to avoid and urgently find a safe anchorage.
